Brett Rogers (born February 17, 1981) is a mixed martial arts fighter. He fights in the Heavyweight division. Rogers has fought in EliteXC and now competes for Strikeforce. He is currently ranked as the #5 heavyweight by Sherdog.com and #7 by MMAWeekly.com

Biography

Brett began his MMA training with Team Bison in Bloomington, MN, in the legendary garage of head trainer Mike Reilly. Currently, Brett trains with Ambition MMA, a state-of-the-art training facility formed by Reilly and his partners in 2008. Brett continues to train on a daily basis with Reilly and co-head trainer of Ambition MMA, Sergio Cunha (former striking coach at Chute Boxe Academy in Brazil).

Strikeforce

On February 2009, Rogers signed with Strikeforce. [2] On June 6, 2009, at Strikeforce: Lawler vs Shields, he defeated former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski by TKO after 22 seconds in the opening round. [3] This victory launched Rogers to the top of the list of heavyweight contenders for Alistair Overeem's championship belt. However, on November 7, in the second round Brett Rogers was knocked out by Fedor Emelianenko, breaking his undefeated record.

Personal life

Rogers is married and has 4 children. Before becoming a full time MMA fighter he worked at Sam's Club changing tires.
