Lalamusa' (لالہ موسی) is a town in Gujrat District, in Punjab Province;Pakistan. It is geographically located at latitude (32.7 degrees) 32° 42' 0" North of the Equator and longitude (73.96 degrees) 73° 57' 35" East of the Prime Meridian on the Map of the world. It lies at an altitude of about 250 meters and has an approximate population of 96,032.

This city is named after a person Musa, whereas the word Lala means elder Brother. In fact two brothers occupied this area in early 1900s. Lalamusa has some interesting recreational places like Barkat Park, Qasim Park, Hassan Park.

Local Government training Academy is situated at Lalamusa.

Mian Imam Din janjua is a great personality of lalamusa he is the founder of first women degree college in Lalamusa named Mian Imam Din Junjua degree college Lalamusa. The famous folk singer Alam Lohar and one of the best classic singer of sub-continentRoshan Ara Begum belong to Lalamusa. Mr. Razzaq Aslam Janjua worked as a chief protocol officer to the President of Pakistan is also from this city. Mr. Javed Chaudhry a renowned journalist also belong to this city. Another famous singer Arif Lohar, Son of Alam Lohar is from Lalamusa. A prominent scientist and scholar, Dr. Adnan Ali Chaudhry, is from Lalmausa and is currently employed by Federal Government of Canada in Public Service Commission, Ottawa. Scientist Zafar Khokhar and Faisal Janjua the famous Social Worker & Businessman is from Lalamusa as well. Lalamusa is also the home of Mirza Amer Samarqandi, the anti-establishment social revolutionist who leads the movement against darwinian thought in the 21st century. The famous poet Muhammad Ishaq Aashufta is from Lalamusa Colonel EAS Bukhari(late) a famous defense journalist was resident of Dhama Lalamusa. Mr ali rehmat son of sardar ali was a well know personality because he was one of the wealthiest person in 165 which are also referred as longowale which is their home village however the name of the street they live at is also called longowali gali because of their record in the area. Political personalities

Ch Glulam Ahmad(late) of Kaira was well known personality of his time he was president Pakistan Muslim League lalamusa before and after the creation of Pakistan he was imprisoned by British regime for his struggle for independence he was also Mayor of Lalamsa. His son Ch Iftikhar ahmad was thrice elected Councilor for MC Lalamusa Ch Muhammad Zaman of Kaira father of Ch Qamar zaman kaira was elected MPA in 1977 and was also Vice Chairman MC Lalamusa in 1964, his younger brother Haji Muhammad Asghar kaira (late) was twice elected as an MNA in 1988, 1993 was also Chairman Municipal committee Lalamusa in 1983 and was elected MPA in 1985 his son Ch Nadeem Asghar kaira is Tehsil Nazim Kharian. Mr. Qamar Zaman Kaira MNA is a Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs. Ch Muhammad Aslam (late) of Kiria was elected MPA in 1990 his nephew Tanveer Ashraf Kaira is MPA Punjab Assembly from Lalamusa and is Provincial Minister of Finance in Punjab. Chaudhry Muhammed Zaman Dhama was the mayor of Lalamusa for almost 25 years and was elected Member Legislative assembly in 1951 he was also member District Board. His son Ch Tahir Zaman Dhama LLB,LL M in environmental law from UK remained Vice chairman Municipal Committee Lalamusa. Jamaat-e-Islami Lalamusa: Dr. Syed Ihsan Ullah Shah is another well reputed personality of the lalamusa he is also member of central executive committee Jamaat-e-islami Pakistan & Deputy secretary General Jamat-e-Islami Punjab , Nawazish Ali Sheikh Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Lalamusa, Irfan Ahmed Safi and Mirza Muhamamd Amjad (Qasba) are other renowned figures of Lalamusa. They are political activist and also have weight in politics.

Presently, Sh Qamar Zaman is president and Ch Muhammad Nawaz advocate is General Secretary of Pakistan Muslim League(Q) both are considered to be the close associates of Syed Manzoor Hussain Shah (late). Sh Tariq Mahmood is Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Lalamusa. Malik Akhtar Ali (Lehri) is a well known person of ghalla mandi Lalamusa. Ch Muhammad Tariq of Budhukalis has strong hold in political activities and a thinker as well.

Mr ali rehmat son of sardar khan was alos a well known personality in lalamusa because he was the one of the richest person in lalamusa in 1965 which are also called longowale.

Social workers are most important segment of any society because they are motivated to serve people without any personal benefit or fame so Lalamusa has many such persons in the past and present such as Mian Imam Din Janjua (late) founder of women Degree College, Sh Mohsin Saddiqi(late)who owned electronic business, Aslam Pahlwan, Master Jaleel, Shahid Khusnood ownwer of sweet shop in Main Bazzar, Syed Anwar Saddiqi Advocate, Dr Younis who is also a notable poet, Mehr Muhammad Malik of Purana Lalamusa, Dr Usman Ghani,Muhammad Iqbal Bhatti, Malik Muhammad Bashir(Rt) Familly Planning official.

Transportation

The Pakistan Railways line passes through the city which links it with Islamabad and Lahore. Lalamusa railway station is a junction, from where lines leads for Sargodha district also. It is a major stop for all trains. Moreover Lahore - Islamabad GT Road passes through the city. khawaja traders renounced business family also from Lalamusa. Mr Shabbir Ahmed Assi the managing director of Khawaja Traders New Ghallah Mandi also comes from lalamusa.

Charities

Dar-Ul-Shafqat Khaliqia Razzaqia is situated at lalamusa, where orphan children are living and they enjoy every facility of life and happiness as well. This Dars (Orphan Home) is running without government support.This Orphan home main source of income is charity to this Dars e.g. Zakat, Sadqa, Fatrana and on Eid-Ul-Azha collection of animal skin. In Sadiqabad another project is being constructed for orphans Sadaqabad is just a mile away from lalamusa. Sadaqabad is an area of Lalamusa and this building will be constructed on 28 Kanals.

The name of that Nobal and Great person who is incharge of this dars (May He live long Ameen) is: ezat ma'aub Khawajah Noor Ahmad Khan Razzaqi (mad zila'a Ta'alah) He is 88 yearsof age and still supervising and handling the whole dars himself.

Faizan e Madinah near shakhan wala qabrastan(grave yard) is a also a great educational place where Madni Munay(Childrans) get the education of Quran & Sunnah. Faizan e Madinah is chain of Dawat-e-Islami's Network.That doing the work for Preaching of Islam.

Education

A well known educationlist of Lalamusa was Dr Muhammad Amin(late)He was Chairman Board of Directors of Islamia High School (before this school was nationalized) and made tremendous efforts for high standard of education in his establishment. Headmaster Islamia High School Sh Abdul Hameed (late) is still rembered by his students for his high values and dedication towards noble cause for knowledge and discipline. Another name in the memories of local people is Head Master Muhammad Iqbal(late) of model High School where in his time high standard of education prevailed.Other notable educationalist are Syed Mushtaq Hussain Shah of Dhama who remained Head Master of Model as well as Islamia high school and retired as a District Education Officer. Syed Fazal Hussain Shah of Budo Kalis former Head Master of Islamia School.Muhammad Arif Khattana of Kaira former Head Master of Railways School is a knowledgeable person and a thinker as well. A science magazine Monthly Science Village is published from Lalamusa. This magazine is studied throughout the country by many people.
