Washington Street is the primary east-west street in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States.

The street lies along the National Road for its entire length in the City of Indianapolis. For a time, it was designated as U.S. Route 40 before the route was re-aligned with a segment of Interstate 465.

The street delineates north-south address numbering for the eastern two-thirds of the city; Rockville Road separates north and south in Wayne Township. At downtown, the city bypasses several prominent buildings, including the Indiana Statehouse and the City-County Building. Washington also runs under the Indianapolis Artsgarden, a suspended glass structure at the intersection of Illinois and Washington. It should be noted that Washington does not intersect Monument Circle (the city's town square); rather, the Circle is located one block to the north of Washington.

Indianapolis International Airport is located south of Washington Street on the west side of the city. The Indianapolis Zoo is located one mile west of downtown at White River State Park. East of downtown, the street passes through the Irvington Historic District, an early suburb of Indianapolis.
