Here are some tasks awaiting attention:

My Parents are Aliens

Right. Some anonomous IP keeps repeatedly adding in their own opinion about how this show relates to My Parents are Aliens. Now, in my opinion, the two are very, very different. As this is my opinion, it shows that it is equally opinion to assume that they are similar. Please, either stop re-adding this personal analysis, or find a 100% rock-solid reliable third-party source to confirm that it is indeed designed to be similar to MPAA. TheIslander 13:59, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm. Well, they are at least similar in terms of the parents not being in tune with modern human life... Not050 (talk) 07:48, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, yep, I won't disagree there. However, that's one small comparison. In my opinion, substantial comparisons would have to be made before it'd be a notable enough fact to include in the article. TheIslander 09:37, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I suppose my main concern with the "Incorporated themes" section is that it appears to end rather suddenly. It mentions the things that are central to the series, but does not say how or why this is appealing to young audiences. Perhaps if it were compared to another children's series that a reader might be familiar with, it might clarify a few of those things. I don't know. That's just my two pennies' worth on the issue. Not050 (talk) 19:01, 8 January 2008 (UTC)Not050[reply]
...and a very decent two pennies they were too :). I'd certainly agree with you, that section does end rather abbruptly. However, I don't think comparing it to another programme is a good idea - if people are aware of MPAA, chances are they'll be aware of Young Dracula too. I dunno, it just seems like a) a completely pointless comparisson to me, but more importantly b) rather POV-esque, in that while person A might think the two programmes very similar, person B might not. Still, your point is 100% valid, it does end suddenly. We just need to come up with a different way to solve that problem. TheIslander 19:04, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion

I am wondering whether we need to have Ivan, Boris and Olga here, since they only appeared in two or three episodes. If nobody has any objections, I think I'm going to incoporate references to them in descriptions of the other, more important characters to the series in the same way that "Will" is referred to under Ingrid's section (unless of course anyone thinks he also deserves his own section), or perhaps, as was done for Grandma Dracula, Crone, in an earlier edition of the article, we could resurrect the category of "rare casts" and describe them under there. Not050 (talk) 01:09, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure. I personally would be in favour of keeping them. Yes, they only appeared in three episodes, but they have been referenced in quite a few more. Also, unlike, say, Crone, who has little influence on the overall story outside 'her' episode, I feel that these characters do. To be honest, I'd also be in favour of creating a section for Will, if not now then once we have more information on him. TalkIslander 01:38, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Not overly keen on the idea, but I will agree to wait until the end of the series before I think about making any alterations again. Not050 (talk) 07:34, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hold the horses...

There's a padlock on this now? Has there been vandalism on the article in my absence? Not050 (talk) 22:56, 1 February 2008 (UTC)Not050[reply]

There's been a slew of anon. IPs trying to add speculation to the article, so another non-involved admin semi-protected the article. Won't affect you, as you're an established user. TalkIslander 23:09, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, good. Thanks for clearing that up for me. And actually, I'm uncomfortable with there being so many alterations and elaborate details on each character unless it is to correct spelling or grammar, so I'm kind of glad the restriction is there. Not050 (talk) 22:43, 4 February 2008 (UTC)Not050[reply]
Agreed, some user's have been going completely over the top with the detail that they've been including. I'd say that the version of the article roughly before the episode where Ingrid bites Will was good - all details added after that are unneccesary. TalkIslander 23:05, 4 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Final verdict (for now)

Very well then, people. I've cleared up some of the details on the central characters that were unresolved prior to the final episode, and have tried to tidy up the "Incorporated Themes" section to make it less cryptic. All I need now is to see how everyone else feels about the Ivan-Boris-Olga section, due to the length of the page and then (I hope) I will not be tearing my hair out over the article as a whole quite as often. POV Check nomination

One bit that caught my eye as I was reverting vandalism: Young_Dracula#Renfield: "Renfield is a disgusting specimen who likes nothing more than eating maggots and nothing less than "breathers"" There are other examples throughout the character descriptions. This isn't a neutrality issue, but it does need rewriting in an encyclopedic fashion. 62.56.110.94 (talk) 02:47, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
