Axel is a Scandinavian (Icelandic, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish) and German masculine given name, which is also used in parts of the English-speaking world. It seems that their origin is in the Germanic word Aeks, which evolved differently in the various languages in this language group. Its meaning is "ax", one of the most primitive weapons of war. [1]
