California Agriculture is a peer-reviewed academic journal reporting news and research on agricultural, natural and human resources published quarterly by the University of California division of Agriculture and Natural Resources,[1] with most of the authors being faculty from that university.

History

The first issue of California Agriculture was published in December 1946, making it among the oldest continuously published, land-grant university research publications in the US.[citation needed] The print circulation is nearly 17,000,[citation needed] which is among the largest for this type of publication.[citation needed]

Special issues

California Agriculture often has special issues that explore timely topics, which have recently included biofuels, climate change, and sustainable viticulture.

Awards

California Agriculture has won several awards from the Association for Communication Excellence in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Life and Human Sciences (ACE).[2]

Full text is available for free on the journal's website, which has the complete contents dating back to 1946. This online archive contains more than 6,000 articles that can be searched, downloaded, emailed and cited.
