A wish list

From the comments on the peer review, here are a few thoughts about how to develop this article:

Split the list into a list article

The list will need to be split at some point as the Mod have indicated that there will be more designations so it will keep getting longer

Add material on protection of aircraft

The coverage is biased to ships at the moment

Add discussion in context of other legislation especially Protection of Wrecks Act 1973

There is some factual material that can be quoted, but I'm not aware of any secondary sources discussing overlap. Does anyone have any material?

Add material on criteria for designation

This should be easy - it is in the Hansard source and the 2001 navy news announcement

Add coordinates for all designated wrecks to the table

This is easy for controlled sites as the coordinates are quoted in the designations. For the protected places, it is possible for coordinates to be unknown as wrecks are designated by name and date of sinking.

Create and add maps (one UK waters, one world) showing locations of designated wrecks.

Requires coordinates as above, and map making technology! Any offers gratefully received!

Another question: Given that some of these vessels are in international waters, what exactly is the legal power of the UK government to set laws and how exactly does it go about enforcing the said laws?
