Welcome!

Hello, IainUK, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, like File:Steve Dixon.jpg, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for page creation, and may soon be deleted.

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on File:Steve Dixon.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ww2censor (talk) 17:26, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This image (1) had no license template (2) is sourced to here that clearly states "all rights reserved" and does not give any exemption to the restriction. Use of such images must be cleared through WP:OTRS with someone from his organization releasing the image under a creative commons or specific non-free license that is acceptable to wikipedia. Follow the instructions here on how to proceed with that. Skier Dude (talk) 19:47, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Deletion of 'Mark Carder'

Hi Ian,

I can restore it, but in the state it was in when I deleted it 2 years ago, it wouldn't pass a deletion discussion. Considering the scrutiny Biographies of Living Persons are under, it would be unwise to restore it in this state (it is entirely unreferenced). Could you please find some references about Mr Carder's work? Alternatively, I can offer to restore the page in your user space so you can work on it before we move it back in the Encyclopedia. Cheers! -- Luk talk 13:33, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have restored it at User:IainUK/Mark Carder. As you can see, it is definitely not ready for prime time yet ;). Good luck! Note that I'll delete it in a few weeks if it remains untouched :). -- Luk talk 20:30, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Starman (band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. The article was made less than ten minutes ago - I haven't even finished it. Please don't be so trigger-happy with the deletions. IainUK (talk) 14:32, 10 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Andrew Stone (Pineapple Dance Studios) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles – see the Article Wizard.

I have nominated Andrew Stone (Pineapple Dance Studios), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Andrew Stone (Pineapple Dance Studios). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 09:45, 14 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
