Goring Hotel is a luxury 5-star hotel in London, England. It is located near Buckingham Palace and is the oldest family-owned luxury hotel in London.

History

Goring Hotel was opened by Otto Richard Goring on March 2nd, 1910 and professed to be the first hotel in the world in which every room had a private bathroom and central heating.[1][2] In 1914, Goring became the command centre for the Chief of Allied Forces and contact with President Woodrow Wilson during World War I was made from this hotel. In 1919, Lady Randolph Churchill, the mother of Winston Churchill moved into Goring Hotel. During World War II, Fox Film stayed at the hotel. Today, overlooking its own private gardens, The Goring is lovingly known as London’s quintessentially English hotel and is perfectly placed in Belgravia for all the capital’s premier attractions (including Buckingham Palace). Each of the 71 individually designed bedrooms and suites exude English style, from Traditional Country House to Classic British, with the latest technology installed throughout. The Garden Bar and Terrace is the ideal destination to sip on Champagne poured from endless magnums, nibble on the canapés being passed around by the charming and cheery bar staff or indulge in a sumptuous afternoon tea. The Dining Room and private rooms thrive on their award-winning reputation for delivering the very best traditional English dishes. All this, served against a sparkling restaurant backdrop designed by Linley. The Goring is about its guests; the staff work tirelessly to ensure that all of the visitors feel pampered and at home. Personal service and attention to every guest need are the hallmark of this wonderfully unique hotel.
