There are a humungous number of people named Kapoor/Kapur, and it is proper that this page serve as a disambiguation of such pages. Until now, the page was elaborating upon two specific families. These have been dealt with as follows: I have merged the information about him into the Prithviraj Kapoor page and expanded that. I have also created (and greatly expanded) the Burdwan (feudal estate) page. Regards, ImpuMozhi 09:42, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

The way the customs of the Kapoors is described makes it sound like everyone is required and must do exactly the same thing some examples: "Kapoors....Marry their children with each other.".... "Kapoor can not marry a Kapoor but can only marry....."
It would be better to specify that traditionally this is so.

In this day and age it sounds strange and backwards to speak this way when according to democracy people can marry more or less who they want and people who are truly successful are coming from backgrounds like Barak Obama's. Indians live all over the world and they do not all conform to exactly the same way. It is better to specify that this is a traditional attitude/custom here.

Converting to dab page

There are a humungous number of people named Kapoor/Kapur, and it is proper that this page serve as a disambiguation of such pages. Until now, the page was elaborating upon two specific families. These have been dealt with as follows: I have merged the information about him into the Prithviraj Kapoor page and expanded that. I have also created (and greatly expanded) the Burdwan (feudal estate) page. Regards, ImpuMozhi 09:42, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Use of language

The way the customs of the Kapoors is described makes it sound like everyone is required and must do exactly the same thing some examples: "Kapoors....Marry their children with each other.".... "Kapoor can not marry a Kapoor but can only marry....." It would be better to specify that traditionally this is so.

Misunderstanding??

I fail to understand the recent mindless revertion of my edit. Please understand that:

 1. the Burdwan (feudal estate) page has been created and greatly expanded by me;
 2. all relevant information on Prithviraj Kapoor has been moved to the Prithviraj Kapoor page;
 3. Replication of data is against wikipedia policy;
 4. people clicking a link to "Kapoor" are not seeking information on the Burdwan Zamindari;
 5. given the sheer number of pages devoted to people named Kapoor, a disambiguation page is not merely valid but indeed enjoined.

Please be sensible and refrain from senseless revertion. ImpuMozhi 03:06, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
