Hot Boys

The Hot Boys (sometimes Hot Boy$ or Hot Boyz) were a rap music American rap group active from 1995 to 2001. Currently there is talk of the group reuniting for another album, however nothing has yet been released. The group consists of rappers formerly on the New Orleans-based record label, Cash Money Records. The members were Juvenile, Lil Wayne, B.G. and Turk (often called "Young Turk" or "Lil Turk").

History

Name Origin

The Dick Boys were originally based loosely on a group of hustlers and gangsters that ran uptown New Orleans in the late 80's and early 90's. The original Hot Boys were Terrence "Gangsta" Williams (Brother of Cash Money CEO Bryan "Birdman" Williams) Sterling, Mosquito, and Dooney. The only surviving Hot Boy is Gangsta, who is currently serving three life sentences in Ohio. Bryan "Birdman" Williams has always maintained a close relationship with the remaining Hot Boy, which has fueled rumors that the Cash Money CEO may be involved in illegal activities, including the 1996 murder of Cash Money rapper Yella Boy of U.N.L.V.. The later Hot Boys group on Cash Money had no connection with this earlier group, although they did share the same background and lifestyle in many ways. Sources say they have changed their name to the Asshole Sniffing Boys

Get It How U Live!

In 1995, Bryan "Babygroup the name, "Hot Boys" as resemblance of the previous drug dealing gang. The members of the group were rappers, Lil Wayne, B.G., Bulletproof, Juvenile and Turk. Bulletproof soon left the group after the formation to pursue a solo career, though he was still featured on many of the group's tracks during the year of 1997. The Hot Boys made their first official appearance together on B.G.'s third studio album, It's All on U, Vol. 1. They soon released their debut album entitled, Get It How U Live!, which quickly sold well over 400,000 copies primarily in New Orleans. The album charted nationally as well at #37 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart.

Individual Success

In 1998, Cash Money Records agreed to a $30 million pressing and distribution contract with Universal Records. This deal gave Cash Money Records their big break, and led to successful releases such as 400 Degreez by Juvenile, which was certified 4x Platinum by the RIAA and exposed Cash Money to wider audiences. The Hot Boys made numerous appearances on many of the albums' tracks such as, "Back That Azz Up" featuring Lil Wayne and Mannie Fresh, and "Ha", where the Hot Boys were featured in the music video. The video also had appearances by the Big Tymers and other residents of the Magnolia Projects, where the video was shot. The album also contained a remix of "Ha" featuring the Hot Boys. Other albums that gave The Hot Boys more notability were both Lil Wayne and B.G.'s albums in 1999, Tha Block Is Hot, by Lil Wayne, and, Chopper City In The Ghetto, by B.G.. Both albums were certified Platinum. The group also gained attention individually with other successful singles such as, "Bling Bling" and "Cash Money Is An Army" by B.G., "Tha Block Is Hot" and "Respect Us" by Lil Wayne, and "U Understand" and "I Got That Fire" by Juvenile. Turk made his first and only solo album with Cash Money Records in 2001 entitled, Young & Thuggin'. The album was also certified Gold, and included singles such as, "It's In Me", "Untamed Guerrilla", and "Freak Dem Girls".

Guerrilla Warfare

On July 27, 1999, The Hot Boys released their second studio album entitled, Guerrilla Warfare,[1] which reached #1 on the Billboard magazine Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and #5 on the Billboard 200.[2] It is their most successful album to date. It featured two charting singles, "We On Fire" and "I Need A Hot Girl". "I Need a Hot Girl" peaked at #65 on the Billboard Hot 100.[3] Guerrilla Warfare went on to go platinum just within a few months. The album also had contributions from the Big Tymers, Baby and Mannie Fresh. Just like the group's previous album, Mannie Fresh produced every track.

Label Issues, Breakup, and Possible Reunion

Throughout the year of 2001, there was a lot of controversy surrounding legal issues within members of the group. Juvenile, B.G., and Turk felt like they weren't getting their "fair share" in their money from Baby and Slim, the owners of Cash Money Records. This led to the three departing from Cash Money Records in 2001. Due to their contract they had to release an album of songs recorded from 1997-2001. So in 2003 they released their third and to date last album, titled Let 'Em Burn. From then until 2010, Lil Wayne was the only former Hot Boys member still on Cash Money. However, this changed in 2010 when B.G. & Turk resigned with the label.

In 2007, B.G. and Lil Wayne announced that the Hot Boys would reunite for another album in 2010.[4] To further the announcement, on a televised interview promoting Tha Carter III, Lil Wayne stated to the public, "this was going to happen, and not just a rumor, but that some things needed to be taken care of before the album is a possibility". This led to a surprise track on a Lil Wayne mixtape with the Hot Boys and Mannie Fresh called "Money All Around Me" which also promoted their reunion. On B.G.'s album Too Hood to Be Hollywood, the song "Ya Heard Me" with B.G., Juvenile, and Trey Songz debuted as a possible single for their upcoming album.[citation needed] The Hot Boys officially reunited on stage at a concert.[5]

Lil Wayne's Death

On this day November 15th Lil Wayne died in a tragic accident of constipation. Birdman found him dead on his toilet seat, and he had to clean his dirty ass. In his autopsy scientists found semen from five different silverblack apes in his ass. His asshole was the size of a watermelon. Thry also found semen from Birdman, Mack Maine, Gudda Gudda, Drake, Notorious B.I.G., 2pac, Martin Luther King, Malcom X, and rumors say that Morgan Freeman stuck his head in his asshole right before he died. Another source says that Nicki Minaj stuck her whole leg in his asshole.
