==Switchshot EX-3==
The Switchshot EX-3 is a dart handgun made by Nerf. The gun fires one dart at a time up to 20-25 feet, with storage under the barrel for two extra darts. Though modified streamline darts have ranges of about 35 feet in the gun. It is unique in the fact that by pressing a button near the muzzle, the firing chamber can be removed. A [[Wii Remote]] can then slide in, creating a gun-like controller for the Nerf-based video game, 'N-Strike Elite' for the [[Wii]]. The Switchshot can be either sold with the Nerf N-Strike game, or by itself in some GameStop stores.

Nerf Blasters are toy weapons made by Hasbro that fire foam darts or in some cases foam balls. however, the term "nerf gun" is often used as a blanket term for any foam dart blaster, regardless of whether or not it has the brand name. Nerf guns are manufactured in multiple forms, including pistols, rifles, light machine guns, and heavy machine guns. The first Nerf guns emerged in the late 1980s with the release of the Nerf Blast-a-Ball[1] and the Arrowstorm.

Maverick REV-6

The Maverick REV-6 is a nerf blaster very similar to a revolver. The Maverick is currently Nerf's most successful and most popular gun to date. Receiving very high praise, the Maverick is unique in that it is capable of shooting every kind of Nerf dart available. It is also one of the most popular for its ability to be modified and for its low price. It is also the most recognized Nerf N-Strike blaster as it has made appearances in some web comics such as Penny Arcade. A common complaint is that the Maverick is prone to jams, although this can usually be fixed by modding the Maverick's slip clutch.

The Maverick REV-6 is capable of firing darts up to 25 feet and at an average firing rate of 60 shots per minute.

Color Schemes for the Maverick include:

  • Blue (its debut color)
  • Yellow (N-Strike Color)
  • Clear (originally available as a pre-order item which came with a reserved copy of Nerf N-Strike for the Wii. However it has been re-released twice: once at Wal-Mart as a limited edition release, and it was re-released again for Nerf's "Clear the Way" campaign for 2010)

Nite Finder EX-3

The Nite Finder EX-3 is a single-shot, muzzeloading handgun. It comes fitted with a red light, which is modelled on a laser sight, and a rail underneath the barrel for carrying 2 extra darts. The Nite Finder is one of Nerf's most successful guns, surpassed in this only by the Maverick REV-6. The Nite Finder has received high praise for its simple but effective design. Design-wise the Nite Finder resembles a combination of several earlier Nerf designs of the 1990's, offering the red-dot of the older Eagle Eye on a simple and lightweight blaster.

Color Schemes:

  • Blue/Silver (Debut Color, did not feature a tactical rail)
  • Red/Gray (FireStrike red team release)
  • Blue/Gray (FireStrike blue team release)
  • Blue/Yellow/Orange (Original N-Strike Color)
  • Silver/Forest Green (N-Strike Rerelease)
  • Yellow/Gray/Orange (Second N-Strike release)
  • Yellow/Black (Current N-Strike Color)
  • Clear/Orange ("Clear the Way" rerelease)

Recon CS-6

The Nerf Recon CS-6 is a Nerf gun that can be used as a rifle or pistol that shoots 6 rounds of streamline darts. The Recon is cocked by slide. Included with the Recon are a detachable stock, a barrel attachment (to add length and allow two-handed operation) with accessory rails on the top and bottom (called "Tactical Rails"), a flip-up sight, and a light that can also be used as a laser pointer. The stock can hold one extra clip which is not included. The Recon has encountered criticism for jamming problems, but received praise for its convertible and innovative design. It was recalled in 2009 because the gun's plunger was exposed, and could catch on to skin as the gun was fired, causing bruises. welts and occasionally cuts. The new Recon CS-6 blasters now have a cover over the plunger. This Nerf gun is somewhat similar in appearance to an M4A1 rifle with parts from a SOPMOD kit.

Color Schemes:

  • Yellow/Orange (Normal)
  • Red/Orange (Wal-Mart Exclusive)
  • Clear/Orange (Part of the "Clear the Way" release)

Longshot CS-6

The Longshot CS-6 is a sniper rifle, fitted with a scope, bipod and a long barrel. The Longshot measures 38.5 inches, making it one of the longest on the line. It is fed by a clip system and is primed by a charging bolt. The barrel extension doubles as a single shot, muzzle-loading pistol. The gun itself is modelled after a DSR-1 sniper rifle. This gun is arguably the most popular to mod, some of the many modifications that can be done to this weapon are removing the air restrictor, plugging the air release in the barrel, an aluminium bolt sled, a brass breach, adding a stronger spring, a cushioned plunger, and many others, with these mods, a Longshot can easily achieve ranges in excess of 70-90 feet.

Color Schemes:

  • Blue/Yellow/Orange (Default Color, No Longer available)
  • Yellow/Orange (Re-release, stronger and lighter than blue variant)
  • Red/Orange (Wal-Mart Exclusive, Uses Yellow variant internals)

Longstrike CS-6

The Longstrike CS-6 is a sniper rifle and is a variant of the Longshot CS-6, fitted with a sight and a long barrel. The Longstrike is currently Nerf's longest gun. It is charged by an ambidextrous bolt slide. Two magazines can be stored in the stock. The Longstrike is modeled primarily after the Dragunov SVD, but also appears to take cues from the Accuracy International Arctic Warfare. It is not as popular as the Longshot, due to the fact that the reverse-plunger firing system causes poor ranges. Although this problem can be somewhat fixed by sealing the hole near the back of the gun (and right above the stock) and the holes in the jam door at the top of the gun that reduce firepower since air from the plunger escapes through these holes.

Color Schemes:

  • Blue/Orange/Yellow (Original Release)

Raider CS-35

The Raider CS-35 is a pump-action blaster, It is cocked by the front handle at the bottom of the barrel. The Raider also introduced a new feature: slam fire. With slam fire, the trigger is held down and each pump fires a dart. The Raider also features a detachable collapsible stock that can also fit the Recon, Spectre, Barricade and Alpha Trooper. The Raider also has a unique drum magazine that is not sold separately, and can fit in any other clip system blaster. The primary downside of the gun is it's poor ranges. Color Schemes:

  • Blue/Orange (Normal)
  • Clear/Orange (Part of the "Clear the Way" release)

Firefly REV-8

The Firefly REV-8 is a Nerf submachine gun. It can also carry 8 darts for spare ammo. The Firefly is notable, though it can shoot any kind of Nerf dart, for having a specialized, glow in the dark dart made specially for it (this glow dart can only be fired in the Firefly, Maverick, Nite-Finder or AS-20). The blaster vaguely resembles a P90 submachine gun.

Color Schemes:

  • Blue/Yellow/Orange (Original Release)
  • Yellow/Orange/Black (Re-release)

Magstrike AS-10

The Magstrike is a 10 shot, fully-auto blaster that resembles a paintball marker. It can be fired full-auto or in a firing method similar to the slamfiring on the Raider and Alpha Trooper. It has a longer range but smaller dart capacity then the AS-20. Normally it is common to see the Magstrike in Target department stores, but it was re-released to many department stores when it was re-named the "NRF Stark Industries Blaster" which was released in conjunction to the first Iron Man movie. However, since the blaster has several problems, such as leaking air over time as it is used, only being able to fire it's whole clip at once (to keep it from sliding back into the blaster) and it's lengthy reload time, the Dart Tag Magstrikes have been discontinued and are no longer in production. However a new model to tie into the N-Strike line was released as a Target exclusive, and has improved the air tank.

Color Schemes:

  • Blue/Green (Dart Tag blue team release)
  • Red/Green (Dart Tag red team release)
  • Yellow/Orange (N-Strike release)
  • Red/Yellow (Iron Man release)

Rapid-Fire AS-20

Also called the AS-20, the AS-20 is a revolving fully-automatic blaster. It is capable of firing in either full auto or semi auto, depending on the position of the switch on the side. It has a shorter range but greater dart capacity then the Magstrike. The AS-20 was later rereleased in the N-Strike as a Target Exclusive.

Color Schemes:

  • Orange/Yellow (N-Strike Colour)
  • Red/Black (Original Release)

Titan AS-V1

The Titan is a single-shot, muzzle loading rocket launcher, with a slight resemblance to an RPG-7. The Titan is Nerf's most powerful gun, and can shoot over a very long distance. Although it says on the box it can shoot 60 feet it has been said to be able to shoot over 80 feet by angling the gun upwards. Due to the possibility of potential injury, it is quite rare to see it on sale by itself. It's common to see it though as part of the N-Strike Unity Power System. It was also re-released as part of the Hulk Abomination Blaster set which was released in conjunction with The Incredible Hulk movie.

Color Schemes:

  • Crimson Red/Gray (N-Strike Unity Power System, No longer available)
  • Green/Gray (Hulk Abomination Blaster)
  • Navy Blue/Gray (Re-release)

Scout IX-3

The Scout IX-3 is a small blaster simillar to the Nite Finder and Switch Shot. It has a small button on the top to make it possible to shoot while attached to the Titan using a small button on the left side of the Titan. It bears more resemblance to a real life handgun than any other nerf blaster. It is included in the Unity Power System, but was excluded from the Hulk Abomination Blaster. it was also included in the Tech Target Set.

Color Schemes:

  • Crimson Red/Gray (Included with Unity Power System)
  • Navy Blue/Gray (Re-release)
  • Green/Blue/Gray (Tech Target release)

Hornet AS-6

The Hornet AS-6, like the Scout also attaches to the Titan. It has 6 barrels which each fire a dart either one after another or at the same time using a button on the side of the gun. Like the Titan, it is commonly seen with the Titan in the N-Strike Unity Power System. But unlike the Titan, it is available by itself. It has also been re-released as part of the Hulk Abomination Blaster set.

Color Schemes:

  • Crimson Red/Gray (N-Strike Unity Power System)
  • Green/Gray (Hulk Abomination Blaster)
  • Navy Blue/Gray (Re-release)

Vulcan EBF-25

The Vulcan is a fully-automatic machine gun, fitted with a removable tripod. This blaster was modeled after an M249 light machine gun. It was the first N-Strike blaster to be belt fed (earlier Nerf products had experimented with belt operation in the 1990's, including the RotoTrak, Chainblazer, and Razorbeast) and is currently the only one to use it. It can be fired in pump action single-shot mode or full-auto mode with 6 D batteries, A single belt will fit into the ammo box on the side of the gun, and additional belts can be purchased separately. Through modification, belts may be combined, although the extra weight from large belts has been known to burn out the motor. Sometimes darts will get jammed in the barrel when the gun is being fired automatically, causing major problems with the blaster. The belt holds 25 darts regularly. One of the most common mods for the Vulcan is increasing the rate of fire by running the full auto mode off of RC battery packs. However, such mods have been known to burn out the gun's motor and melt the blaster. so one must exercise caution while using a modded Vulcan. the Vulcan has received possibly the most criticism out of any N-Strike blaster, with most focus directed towards the unreliable belt-feeding mechanism, mediocre range and low fire rate, though it does fire faster than the Stampede.

Color Schemes:

  • Orange/Yellow (N-Strike)
  • Orange/Red (Wal-Mart Exclusive)

Deploy CS-6

The Deploy gets its name because it can be put into flashlight mode and with the push of a button it deploys into a pump action blaster. It uses the popular clip system, but frequently jams. In addition, there have been instances of the gun being sold without any darts.

Color Schemes:

  • Yellow/Orange/Gray (N-Strike)
  • Clear ("Clear The Way" Re-release)

Alpha Trooper CS-18

The Alpha Trooper CS-18 is a slam-fire blaster similar to the Raider, It is racked by a handle at the bottom of the barrel. The Alpha Trooper also can function in "slam-fire" mode like the Raider. The Alpha Trooper is praised for being a small and lightweight, yet high-capacity blaster. However, it is quite easy to clear the entire 18 round drum quickly in slam fire (a feature it shares with the Raider) and is prone to misfire when firing quickly, the ironsights are also extremely ineffective and difficult to use. it is also quite common for the clip release and pump to lock up if the drum is not firmly in place.

Color Schemes:

  • Yellow/Orange (Normal)

Secret Strike AS-1

The Secret Strike is Nerf's smallest dart gun. It is primed by pumping the handle underneath the barrel 7-10 times. It is fired using the button on the top. It also is the first dart gun to come with a belt clip. Despite its size, it is advertised as having a range of 30 feet.

Color Schemes:

  • Several (Yellow/Orange N-Strike Variant most common)

Switchshot EX-3

The Switchshot EX-3 is a dart handgun made by Nerf. The gun fires one dart at a time up to 20-25 feet, with storage under the barrel for two extra darts. Though modified streamline darts have ranges of about 35 feet in the gun. It is unique in the fact that by pressing a button near the muzzle, the firing chamber can be removed. A Wii Remote can then slide in, creating a gun-like controller for the Nerf-based video game, 'N-Strike Elite' for the Wii. The Switchshot can be either sold with the Nerf N-Strike game, or by itself in some GameStop stores.

Color Schemes:

  • Yellow/Orange (Released with Nerf N-Strike)
  • Blue/Orange (Released with Nerf N-Strike Elite)

Stampede ECS

The Stampede is Nerf's first fully auto clip system blaster. It introduced a new model of clip, holding 18 streamline darts instead of six. It includes a blast shield, foregrip with pop-out bipod, three 18-dart clips, one 6-dart clip, and sixty streamline darts. The blaster requires six 1.5 Volt "D" Batteries. The Stampede ECS is modelled after an LMG (it most resembles an rpk or an l86) and also greatly resembles the "Spartan" from the Video games, but bears the name of a different blaster also from the game. It is quite possible that it was to originally include a 50-dart clip/drum, as the pre-order name was "Stampede ECS-50".

Color Schemes:

  • Yellow/Orange (Normal)

Spectre REV-5

The Spectre is like a fusion of the Recon and the Maverick. It has a folding stock and can use the same ammunition as the Maverick (including Streamlines and Taggers. It is labeled as a "customizable stealth blaster". It is presumably the real life release of the Vengeance REV-8 but holds only 5 darts. It also comes with a faux suppressor. The Spectre REV-5 is exclusively available at Wal-Mart.

Color Schemes:

  • Yellow/Gray/Black/Orange (Normal)

Barricade RV-10

The Barricade is very similar to Buzz Bee Toys's Tommy 12 or Ultimate Rapid Blast. It holds 10 darts. Stocks can be attached, but it does not come with one. It requires 3 AA batteries to run the motor which can be turned on and off by a switch near the handle. Pulling the trigger with the gun turned on fires a dart through the use of a pair of flywheels. While the blaster can be fired as quickly as the user can pull the trigger, a half-second pause must be given between shots to allow the flywheels to get back to full speed. It is commonly complained that the blaster is noisy and drains battery life because the flywheels must be constantly spinning, a popular mod for this blaster is to make the flywheels activate when the trigger is pulled by means of a pressure switch, with enough voltage, the gun can spin up and fire almost instantaneously, making this mod rather useful. It is seen in the design that Hasbro possibly originally intended for the blaster to function like this, as there is an unconnected pressure switch already in the gun below the normal switch.

Color Schemes:

  • Yellow/Orange (Normal)

Barrel Break IX-2

The Nerf Barrel Break is a double barrel shotgun-type blaster. It comes with an accessory that can hold 8 extra darts. The gun possesses two ways to fire: The user can pull the trigger halfway back to fire the two darts separately, or pull it all the way back to fire both darts simultaneously. This is the same firing style as the BuzzBee Double Shot. The Barrel Break is exclusively available at Toys 'R Us.

Color Schemes:

  • Yellow/Orange (Normal)

Nerf Dart Tag blasters

Another brand of nerf blasters which uses "tagger" darts that can stick to a special vest. These blasters came in either green, orange, blue or red.

StormFire

A blaster which bears resemblance to a large pistol such as a Desert Eagle. It has 3 storage areas, 2 of them are below the barrel and another one is underneath the handle.

CrossFire/StrikeFire

A blaster similar to the scout but can hold 5 extra darts instead of just 2. It is one of the few Nerf blasters to have an "inverse" tactical rail so it can attach to a tactical rail like an accessory. The only other blaster that has this is the Titan.

FuryFire

A blaster which holds 10 darts and uses an operating system similar to the Maverick. It resembles a cross between a shotgun and a revolver.

HyperFire

Similar to the Furyfire, it holds 10 darts but unlike the Furyfire, the darts are located in the front and it is primed with a slide instead of a pump. This blaster originally was simply known as the 'Dart Tag blaster.'

Magstrike

The Magstrike, now known as the Magstrike AS-10, was origanally a dart tag blaster. It was made in red and blue colors, and came with two magazines and a vest.

FireStrike

This blaster was simply a re-released Nite Finder for Dart Tag.

Nerf Ballistic Ball Launchers

These Nerf blasters are quite hard to find, and instead of darts, they fire foam balls.

Nerf Reactor

A grenade launcher-like blaster that shoots foam balls, it is operated by the pump, one full movement will launch a ballistic ball. it can hold up to 4 ballistic balls and is quite common in Target department stores.

Colour Schemes:

  • Blue/Green/Orange (Re-release)
  • Red/Blue/Yellow (Original release)

Nerf Atom Blaster

A small pistol sized blaster. It is operated much like the Maverick, with a cocking slide and a trigger. This blaster is popular among the community for it's incredibly high ranges.

Colour Schemes:

  • Green/Blue (Original release)

Nerf Buzzsaw

A remake of the "Nerf Ripsaw" from 1995, the Buzzsaw is operated by pulling a charging handle several times and pulling a trigger. It is very unpopular for it's noisiness and poor range.

Colour Schemes:

  • Blue/Green/Orange (Original release)

Modification

Although Hasbro prints "Do not modify darts or dart blaster" on most Nerf guns, a select group of enthusiasts modify the guns[2]. Modifications can include removing the internal parts which restrict air, spring replacement, replacing the barrels with PVC or brass tubing, and even paintjobs or cosmetic enhancements. Homemade darts; called "Stefans" (named after Stefan Mohr, who developed the process) have also been made, usually being made out of foam backer rod[3]. Many websites, forums and communities within the internet are dedicated to Nerf modification and "NERF War" hosting, including NerfHaven, Nerf HQ, and Foam Universe.
