Dougie Poynter

Dougie Lee Poynter[1] (born 30 November 1987) is an English musician and the bass guitarist and vocalist for the British pop rock band McFly.

McFly

Poynter is bassist of pop band McFly, also providing backing, and on occasion, lead vocals. He has co-writer credits on many of McFly's track. Poynter is also known as the youngest member in the band. At the young age of 15 Poynter joined the band as there bass player.Two songs he sings the lead in are Transylvania and Silence is a Scary Sound. Silence is a Scary Sound was a song that Dougie wrote when he was 14.

Personal

Poynter was born in Corringham, Essex, England.[2] When Poynter was 15 he auditioned to join McFly, and Dougie made it as bass player for the band.

Poynter dated and lived with Frankie Sandford from The Saturdays,[3][4][5][6][7][8] the pair briefly split up in March 2010, [9] but reunited again in April 2010. They have since split up again, as of November 2010, and Frankie has moved out.[10].
