In December 2010,Ravi Belaagere wrote a derogotory remarks on popular young right wing kannada journalist Pratap Simha in his weekly Hai Bangalore. This followed with the resignation of Vijaya Karnataka editor in chief Vishweswar Bhat, Pratap SImha and P. Thyagraj. This gave a death blow to the well established kannada daily. This article by Ravi is believed to be from Christian lobbyists paying a hefty amount of money him. Following the article,it appeared Ravi's image was tarnished.
