== Constructive Edits ==

[[Image:Information.svg|25px|alt=|link=]] Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, unfortunately some people prefer to remove whole paragraphs from articles if they disagree with citation sources, rather than updating the article with a {{cn}} tag. Is this not the purpose of the tag in the first place? A simple <span class="plainlinks">[http://www.google.com/search?q=2011's+Comedy+Central+Stand-up+Showdown Google Search]</span> would have revealed the original edit to be factual. A constructive contribution would have been to add a better citation, and this is what we look for here at Wikipedia. Thank you.

Black Shield Wasp

When I edited the Vespa bicolor page, I added the common name. This was not test editing. - User 75.166.103.112

File source problem with File:Helen and Betty in 2005.jpg

I am the one who created the image. I photographed the people myself. I did not get it from a website. I do not know how to indicate this fact on the file description, as you request. Athena2006 (talk) 19:20, 26 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

tlf'ing?

I reverted an edit to a template call on Talk:Ulysses S. Grant because all it did was mess up the call. You don't seem like a vandal, so I assume there was a purpose I don't understand. Please explain. WCCasey (talk) 07:14, 27 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The reason why I tlf'ed it was because all edit requests should be tlf'ed if they are acknowledged/responded to, as it says in the template. Otherwise, it expands the already huge backlog. Happy editing! Logan Talk Contributions 19:52, 27 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Stupid me, I'd completely forgotten I had added myself to the list... For a moment I thought it was an account parameter or some stuff like that!... :) --Vlad|-> 09:20, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Dear Logan: First I would like to thank you very much for your remarks and encouraging words necessary for beginners in Wikipedia. I took into account your remarks and improved my first contribution (Salahaddin Khalilov)into Wikipedia in English. Can I remove the tag about the article has been proposed for deletion because Wikipedia restrictions for BLP now? I look forward to hear from you soon. Regards. --Eltac (talk) 10:33, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have deprodded your article. Sorry for the wait. Logan Talk Contributions 21:14, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I've contacted the original creators about granting explicit permission for the following: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:CoryArcangel.jpg

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Zachary_Lieberman.jpg

and contacted Bre Pettis about loosening the cc licensing for this

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Possibly_unfree_files/2011_January_27#File:Becky-stern.jpg

Finally,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Jonah_Peretti.jpg

is used with permission, but is no longer used on Jonah Peretti and can be safely deleted.

--Jamiew (talk) 16:40, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You're awesome! I have transferred the Becky Stern image to Commons, which means that the Wikipedia one will be deleted. Once we get OTRS permission for those other two, I can also transfer those to Commons. We'll just let that Jonah Peretti picture wait out the deletion period since it's not being used. Thanks! When using checklinks, please ensure that you verify that changes made are correct before saving. This edit to The Suite Life of Zack & Cody replaced piped links to the correct article with piped links to redirects and inserted {{dead link}} into the middle of references, instead of at the end. --AussieLegend (talk) 19:02, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That is actually the proper formatting for dead links. The dead link superscript link goes immediately to the right of the link, not at the end of the reference. However, regarding the bypassing of redirects, that is an automatic feature of Checklinks that removes ugly section-linking notation from the editing text of the article. That's a visual change that is debated by some editors. I will discuss that feature with Dispenser, as I have had some editors say the same in the past about bypassing those redirects. Thanks for notifying me! Logan Talk Contributions 19:05, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I have forgotten to sign. Hi. Why do you ignore my messages? --Eltac (talk) 21:16, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

RDx1, bot

RDx1 actualy is my project name for particular bot function, running with mk:user:brest-bot account. In the past I run this function on mk.wiki, and for testing purposes last day on en.wiki, but I run under user:Brest account, by mistake. Here on en.wiki I don't have a bot flaq, I just made a request.--Brest-bot (talk) 01:43, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I can manualy edit :) nice, I confirm this. --Brest (talk) 02:00, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I made a proposition at Nokia X7--please see if you agree. Drmies (talk) 05:57, 1 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Smart idea. Better to redirect to the product list than to delete. Thanks! Logan Talk Contributions 05:58, 1 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Sounds exciting though, a super-secret project involving...a...cellphone...Drmies (talk) 06:01, 1 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mallia Franklin

Hello,

I am the only child of Mallia Franklin and I want to include information on her career and life. She died last year. I am her only child and she was married to a member of a group in Wikipedia Nathaniel "Nebs" Neblett, who is my father. I keep getting deleted, what do i have to provide to Wikipedia? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Martinofox (talkcontribs) 20:52, 2 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You must provide a reliable source that supports the added content. Simply being connected to the person does not replace the need for sources, especially in an encyclopedia. Logan Talk Contributions 21:01, 2 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you delete?

Why did you delete my edit? It was helpful and was not vandalism. I haven't done anything wrong. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.227.252.119 (talk) 20:56, 2 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You were adding unsourced, possibly NPOV-violating content to the article. Please provide reliable sources that support the content you are adding. Also, don't say "Made by ________" in the article - attribution is done in the edit history. Logan Talk Contributions 21:03, 2 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Constructive Edits

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, unfortunately some people prefer to remove whole paragraphs from articles if they disagree with citation sources, rather than updating the article with a [citation needed] tag. Is this not the purpose of the tag in the first place? A simple Google Search would have revealed the original edit to be factual. A constructive contribution would have been to add a better citation, and this is what we look for here at Wikipedia. Thank you.
