A list of Human Villains and Ghosts (good or bad, major and minor) that have appeared in the animated television series Danny Phantom in order of their appearance.

The Ectopusses

Octopus-like ghosts and one of the first ghosts that Danny Phantom fought in the show (Mystery Meat). They were only shown with some significant contribution to the plot during the first season, although they did show up as a cameo in Bitter Reunions and Reign Storm.

The Lunch Lady Ghost

A ghost who haunted the school cafeteria at Casper High, she loves lunch and feels that meat is the most important part of any meal. She seems sweet-tempered normally, but has violent mood swings if her menu is questioned, challenged, changed or not wanted. In addition to power over all things pertaining to lunch, she can also control food (namely meat), to the point of forming it around herself as a giant meat monster. She was incensed when Sam changed the school's lunch menu to be compatible with Ultra-Recyclo-Vegetarianism, and was the first ghost captured in the Fenton Thermos by Danny ("Mystery Meat").

In an alternate future, she is married to the Box Ghost and has a daughter (humorously named Box Lunch). Despite this, she does not appear in The Ultimate Enemy, which may give reason to believe that Dark Danny could have found a way to destroy her permanently.

See The Ghost of the Lunch Lady Bio for details.

The Dragon Ghost

A young ghost princess named Dorothea is doomed to always wear the Cursed Amulet of Aragon, which turns anyone who wears it into a fierce Ghost Dragon, but only when the person experiences "emotional distress." Once the amulet is off, the person wearing it returns to normal with no memory of their time as a ghost. The amulet itself maybe be a parody to Eragon as they are both pronounced the same way and almost look the same.

Dorothea isn't necessarly evil. Rather, she is bullied by her big brother, Prince Aragon, to do his dirty work for him. In Beauty Marked, Dorothea, after hearing a little peptalk from Sam, finally gets up enough gumption to stand up to her big brother.

The Box Ghost

Mostly non-dangerous ghost who is "master of all things cardboard and square". He was likely at some time a person who put together cardboard boxes. He often shouts, "I am the Box Ghost! Beware!" and repeats it when he is defeated or leaves a room. He tends to be a weak, non-threatening ghost, which sometimes provokes other ghosts to use him to their advantage (for example, Skulker often uses him as bait to lure Danny into traps).

In the alternate future, he is actually more of a feared, powerful threat than he used to be. He is also married to the Lunch Lady Ghost, and has a child (humorously named Box Lunch).

See The Box Ghost Bio for details.

Skulker

A ghost who introduces himself as a great predator. He hunts down rare and unusual items, and he fancies himself as a collector of all things rare and unique. He wears high-tech battle armour and is often seen in the services of Vlad Plasmius. Inside the suit, he's a small green blob with short arms and legs and a squeaky little voice. In Micro-Management, Danny delivers severe damage to Skulker's battlesuit, which Skulker upgrades it into a more advanced suit of armor.

See Skulker Bio for details.

Nicolai Technus

A recurring ghost and the self-proclaimed "Master of Technology (All Things Electronic and Beeping)". Mostly all of the time, he always talks about himself Like " I Technus...". In reality, he is more of a "Master of Really Long-Winded Speeches," as he spends more time gloating about his evil plans than he does executing those plans. Technus has the ability to control and merge together with technology, similar to the Lunch Lady, only without meat.

In Identity Crisis and all later episodes, Technus changes his appearance and fixes a few minor weaknesses (namely, his habit of gloating) as the result of giving himself an "upgrade".

Though it eventually stopped working, in Flirting With Disaster, Technus attempts to get Danny and Valerie into a relationship, so that he can get control of a super satellite that gives him control of all of the computers in the world. In the process of his plan, he upgrades Valerie's ghost-hunting suit, giving her a new look.

See Technus Bio for details.

Sidney Poindexter

The ghost of a 1950s nerdy teenager, Sidney was trapped in an unchanging world of 1950s ghost bullies within a mirror in Casper High. In life, Sidney attended Casper High, and according to Tucker, picking on him was a graduation requirement. Desperate to get out and get revenge on bullies everywhere, Sidney tricked Danny into switching places with him, trapping Danny's ghost form in the mirror while he possessed Danny's human body. He is in a part of the Ghost Zone that is completely in Black-and-White including the normally Green-and-Black background. Since we see him in other episodes with other ghosts, it is assumed that he is in the regular Ghost Zone and just that section of the Ghost Zone is in Black-and-White.

Desiree

An age-old ghost/genie that was originally a human Arabian girl. She was apparently involved with a sultan, who promised to fulfil her heart's desire, but was banished by the Sultan's jealous wife and eventually died of a broken heart (and old age). Desiree now travels the world as a ghost, granting anyone's deepest desires (wishes and desires expressed verbally i.e. "I wish..." or "I want..."), much like the genie she resembles, only all her powers are spectrally-based rather than magically-based. Pronounced /dezəreɪ/ (see IPA chart for English).

Vlad Plasmius

Easily Danny's arch enemy, Vladimir "Vlad" Masters is a human who went to college with both of Danny's parents and spent a good deal of time with them during their college years. Eventually, he fell in love with Maddie. Maddie, however, did not return his affections (as hers were directed towards Jack). One day while working with the Fentons in the college science lab, there was an accident which gave Vlad ghost powers (similar to how Danny got his ghost powers, though with a smaller portal). The accident forced him to spend the next few years in a hospital, with visible "Ecto-Acne." He then spent the next 20 years developing his ghost powers, one of his favorites being the ability to duplicate himself.

Some people believe (while unlikely), that Vlad was an actual vampire before gaining his powers. This rumor is most likely people trying to explain why Vlad is physically different than Danny while transformed. But the Vlad Masters showed in College did not have any vampire charactaristics, such as fanged teeth, unlike Vlad Plasmius. Also, it should not be presumed that all ghost/humans look exactly the same. If this is true, Vlad may have found a way to alter his appearance during his 20 years of having powers.

See Vlad Masters - Vlad Plasmius for details.

Also, Vlad in his ghost form, looks like a Chiss from Star Wars, but with lighter blue skin. To some, Vlad looks much like a vampire in his ghostly form.

The Vulture Ghosts

The three Vulture Ghosts are the main servants of Vlad Plasmius. They are each about 2008 years old (happy to be moving at all), and speak with a stereotypical 'old man' voice and Jewish-sounding accent. They also prefer to be called "ecto-Americans" rather than "ghosts." They aren't very talkative, but one has spoken more than once. The resemble a cross between a vulture and a shriner, as each one wears a fez.

The Dairy King's Ghost

First appearance: "Bitter Reunions". The kindly ghost of the Dairy King who once lived where Vlad Masters' castle presently stands/stood. When he frees Danny from Skulker's ghost-power-negating cube, he tells Danny that "not all ghosts are evil, some just want to be left alone, don'cha'know". He seems unlikely to re-appear. His name comes both from the Dairy Queen restaurant chain and from the fact that Wisconsin is, of course, the Dairy State.

Walker

A very strict skull-faced vigilante ghost and warden who runs the prison of the Ghost Zone with the help of numerous lackeys. In Prisoners of Love, Danny is sentenced to 1000 years in the prison for violating one of Walker's rules (Danny allegedly brought a non-ghost item into the Ghost Zone).

See Walker Bio

Penelope Spectra

A ghost that has found the ability to stay young by sapping the life energy from humans. The victim, however, must be in a depressed and tired state in order for this to be effective.

Her ultimate goal is to create the perfect body for her to inhibit. She tried to achieve this by gathering DNA samples from the various students in Casper High through the means of ghost-bugs overshadowing them (the development of ghost powers in the victims were a side effect). Knowing that she needed Danny's DNA to grant full power to her "body", she tried to capture Danny and extract it from him personally. The plan was foiled when Danny fed a snot-filled hanky (courtesy of his dad) into the extractor, which led to a really sticky situation for Spectra. To those who don't like corny jokes, the straight-out fact is that Spectra turned into a hideous, walking snot monster.

Spectra, ironically, shares the same hairstyle as Vlad Plasmius and, like him, can be viciously cruel and calculating. This could only be coincidence. But they would still make a good couple.

See Penelope Spectra BIO for details.

Bertrand

Penelope Spectra's shape-shifting assistant. As Penelope builds people's depressions, Betrand extracts the life energy from them. While he usually assumes the form of a short, middle-aged man, his true self is nothing more than a walking blob of ectoplasm.

See Bertrand Bio for details.

Valerie Gray

Once a popular girl at Casper High, Valerie Gray was part of the "in" crowd with Paulina, Dash, Kwan, etc. until the appearance of a huge ghost dog at Axion where her father Damon Grey has a security contract with. The ghost dog trashed the place and her dad was fired; Valerie ended up with little money and less popularity. Blaming all her misfortune on Danny Phantom, Valerie dedicates herself to learning how to hunt ghosts. Unbeknowest to her, Vlad Plasmius has taken advantage of her grudge and has secretly supplied her with various ghost-hunting weaponry with which to destroy Danny. In Reign Storm, it is shown that Valerie had a crush on Danny Fenton. In Flirting with Disaster, Valerie goes deeper into her crush with Danny. However, Technus possesses her armor in an attempt to destroy Danny, with Danny destroying her ghost-hunting suit in the end. When Technus hooks up with a satellite in space, he upgrades Valerie, giving her a red and black-striped suit and the power to change into her suit at will. Her new suit is capable of space travel, and her face shows through the mask.

Ghost-Dog

A puppy when playful, but full-grown when vicious. He was responsible for trashing the Axion company. No matter how many times Danny returned him to the Ghost-Zone, he kept coming back. Eventually, when Danny discovers his chew toy, the Ghost-Dog took it and disappeared back into the Ghost Zone. Sometimes referred to as 'Cujo', after the dog in the Stephen King story of the same name. He briefly reappeared during "Reign Storm."

Klemper

Not much is known about Klemper, except he is on the same uselessness scale as The Box Ghost. With The Box Ghost being obsessed with boxes, Klemper wants to be friends with everyone. He has icy cold breath that can freeze almost anything and is constantly wearing red and white striped pajamas.

Ember McLain

A hard-rocking girl ghost that gains power when "fans" cheer her name (and her fiery ponytail flares up). Her age is unconfirmed, but she is most likely a teenager like Danny. Her song, "Remember", can be heard on [1], under "Audio." She is one of the most popular ghosts on the series. In Pirate Radio, her music was to enslave many adults in a pirate ship, in which she also worked with Youngblood. In the episode The Ultimate Enemy, Danny of the "present" in the alternate future learned that Dark Danny damaged Ember's vocal cords, causing her to lose her singing voice and become obese (although her obesity could have been out of shame and guilt for losing her voice). This has also confirmed that even in the afterlife, ghosts can gain or lose weight.

See or Ember McLain Bio for Details.

Fright Knight

The Spirit of Halloween whose sword, the Soul Shredder, causes people to experience their greatest fears. His major weakness is that he is sent back to the Ghost Zone if someone (namely Danny) puts his sword inside a pumpkin and says the incantation to send him back. In Reign Storm, he makes a deal with Vlad Plasmius, though it is unknown what that deal is. It is most likely he works for Vlad now. In The Ultimate Enemy, He works for Dark Danny, and shows up to attack the future Valerie before Dark Danny does. Strangely, Fright Knight does not use the Soul Shredder during his attack on future Amity Park.

See The Fright Knight for details.

Johnny 13

Johnny is a classic '50s biker with bad luck. His shadow spreads this luck to others, especially teen women. He has a girlfriend, Kitty who is very attached to him. In the episode The Ultimate Enemy, his future self is found to be confined to a wheelchair, but his shadow is just as powerful as ever.

Kitty

Johnny 13's girlfriend who unwittingly causes trouble for Danny. When she got injured trying to get through the Ghost Portal, she empowered her jacket so that whoever wears it will be possessed by her while the host ends up in a purgatory place. She gets very jealous when Johnny's eyes roam to other girls.

Bullet

He is Walker's second in command, and is just as strict as his employer. However, when outside the ghost warden's view, he often resorts to his own methods rather than Walker's.

Wulf

A werewolf-like ghost who can use his claws to rip a ghost out of an overshadowed human and rip into (or out of) the real world at will crossing from there to the Ghost Zone. He speaks Esperanto throughout most of the show. Seen wearing a green sweatshirt.

Freakshow

A human villain that runs the Circus Gothika, a goth circus that utilizes ghosts as the performers. He possesses and uses a staff with a ruby crystal ball that has the ability to control the ghost performers (as well as halfas like Danny). Without it, he is powerless.

According to Freakshow, the staff was passed down to him from previous generations of his family. However, while his predecessors were content to control ghosts for means of entertainment, Freakshow prefers to control ghosts for profit. He does this by using the Circus Gothika as a distraction for the audience while its ghost performers loot the cities they perform in.

Youngblood

A 10-year old ghost and the captain of a band of ghost pirates. However, he doesn't know much about pirate lingo and his parrot often helps him out with that. He has the ability to shoot ectoplasmic beams out of his hook and his peg-leg can turn into a cannon. Seeing how he later dressed up as a cowboy, it can be presumed that he might dress up as something different when he next appears. Also, he can only be seen by kids and can't be seen by adults (or kids that think they're adults, mainly Jazz.).

Pariah Dark

First appearing in Reign Storm, Pariah Dark is the King of all Ghosts, with control of the powerful Ring of Rage and Crown of Fire. While wearing both of these items, Pariah Dark has near limitless power. He commands the Fright Knight as well as an army of Skeletal ghosts. In the distant past, in a last ditch effort to dethrone him and end his tyranny, a group of ancient ghosts successfully removed the Ring of Rage from him and imprisoned him in the Sarcophagus of Forever Sleep.

Danny's "Evil, Older, Future Self"/Dark Danny/Dan Phantom

First appeared in "The Ultimate Enemy" which was both a TV movie and the first Danny Phantom video game, for the Game Boy Advance. An evil full-ghost version of Danny Phantom. In the future, when Danny chooses to cheat on the test, his friends and family pay the price when they die in an explosion at the Nasty Burger. Afterwards he had moved in with his arch enemy, Vlad. Completely taken over by the grief, Danny had Vlad seperate his human and ghost halves, which caused Danny Phantom to remove Vlad's ghost-half and merge with it, thus turning into Dark Danny. After apparently killing his human-self, Dark Danny caused destruction now that he had no human emotions left. When Danny met his future self, he managed to change the future, so he wouldn't go up to his own worst enemy. Although Dark Danny was in the present at the time trapped in Danny's thermos. The thermos was given to Clockwork, therefore Dark Danny exists outside of time. This opens the possibility that he might return. Unlike Danny's other enemies, Dark Danny has no guilt or conscience. He is willing to destroy people's lives, or even kill to get what he wants.

Dark Danny has Danny's face, a mullet, pale green-blue skin, flaming white hair, red eyes with pupils, pointed ears, sharp vampire teeth, a serpent-like forked tongue, Danny's pants, belt and boots, Vlad's gloves, beard, and shirt with a black Y-shaped spot on his chest that has his "DP" emblem, and an intimidating white cape similar to Batman's, he is also very muscular. These are all similar features to Vlad Plasmius, which is because Danny's ghost-self merged with Vlad's to form Dark Danny. He has the power to disguise himself as any human, create about five doubles(these doubles can be invisible when made, and can be made in his disguise), create ghost portals, freeze a person by touching or facing his hand at them, shoot ecto goo like Spider-Man webs, and turn his head 360 degrees. All of which neither Danny nor Vlad can do. This would mean that he is stronger than Vlad, and apparently stronger than any other villain. Apparently, he is 24 years old, as Danny is 14 in the past, and since "The Ultimate Enemy" takes place 10 years after the accident, he is 10 years older than Danny.

There is much to believe on what this character's real name is. In The Ultimate Enemy, Valerie referes to him by his last name, Phantom. The end credits, Butch Hartman, and tv.com call him Dark Danny, while the game calls him Dan Phantom. Then again, he never does introduce himself by name, so his true name may yet be unknown.

In some moments, Dark Danny sticks out his tongue, which is a reference to the famous Spider-Man villain, Venom. Unlike Venom's his tongue is forked like a lizard's or snake's tongue.

Clockwork

First appeared in "The Ultimate Enemy" which was both a TV movie and the first Danny Phantom video game, for the Game Boy Advance. Clockwork is a ghost who oversees time and has time based powers, such as stopping or fast-forwarding. His appearance can also randomly shift between boy, man, and old man. Perhaps based on The Spectre and The Phantom Stranger. He can use amulets to bring people or things into the past, present or future. Although it was job to destroy Danny to prevent the existance of Dark Danny, in the end he became one of Danny's allies.

It is believed Clockwork is one of the ghosts who defeated Pariah Dark, which gives reason to believe that he may not be the only employee of The Observants, but has now been proved otherwise. The ghosts who defeated Pariak Dark had lime-green hands, Clockwork's hands are pale blue. However, The Observants are lime-green ghosts, so some believe that the observants, being lime-green ghosts, had to do with Pariah Dark's defeat, but the ghosts shown in Pariah Dark's defeat had two red eyes, and the observants have one big eye

Observants

A pair of ghosts whose faces are nothing more than large eyes. They monitor everything in the Ghost Zone and the Human world, but, somewhat clichedly, can't interfere with it directly. Seemingly based on Uatu, the Watcher.

Box Lunch

She is the possible future daughter of the Lunch Lady Ghost and the Box Ghost (When Danny hears and/or mentions that fact, he says "Ew", concerning the thought of Lunch Lady and Box Ghost having children). She can control food and boxes like her parents. She also speaks similarly to them, with Box Ghost-like moanings of "Beware!" and Lunch Lady-like mood swings.

SkulkTech 9.9

A possible future version of Skulker using Technus as his operating system. They are much stronger together than they are apart, but Tucker can still hack into their system with his PDA, which Tucker "dosn't know whether that's exciting, or depressing." They possess many new weapons, though none of them work on the evil future Danny.

Ghost Writer

A ghost who speaks in rhymes and can turn reality into a book story with his Quantum Keyboard.

Prince Aragon

Prince Aragon is the ruthless older brother of Dorathea (AKA The Dragon Ghost). He bullied his sister into thinking that being a princess meant that she was supposed to be perfect and happy. She then did whatever he told her, including seeking a human bride for him. Because he wanted what others couldn't have. Prince Aragon is a bully, and has a nasty temper. But like his sister, he loses his dragon form when he loses his amulet.

His name is possibly a parody of Eragon.
