I don't see the problem with listing his duration 2008-2011. It's true really isn't it? I doubt he's going to be on contract whilst not in the show. It's not like he's having a baby or time off for personal reasons.[[User:Raintheone|'''<span style="color:red;font-family:Modern">RAIN*the*ONE</span>''']] [[User talk:Raintheone|<font color="#1020255">'''BAM'''</font>]] 13:07, 26 February 2011 (UTC) |

Barry's death
Janine had wanted Barry's wealth so she married him, and then, following an argument the next day, killed him by pushing him off a cliff on New Year's Day 2004. Not that it's terribly important in this article, but whether Barry was pushed or fell is still a matter of debate IMO.

- This episode guide suggests that it was a mixture of both "Barry moves towards Janine but she shoves him away. He tumbles over the cliff and crashes down the hill."[1]. I think we were meant to believe that his death was an accident, but she still killed him because he fell as a result of her push, then she left him to die while she picked a flower and undid his shoelace :) Gungadin 22:03, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Image
Is it possible for someone to get a new picture to represent this article? The character is crying in the image, but he is not really the depressed type, so it is kinda misleading, and does not best represent the character of Ricky Butcher. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.106.41.3 (talk) 17:37, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
- I agree that infobox images should be those that represent a typical image of the character. User:Gungadin usually uploads new images but she's on a wikibreak at the moment. AnemoneProjectors (talk) 20:04, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
- I dont agree. He's not crying he just looks sad. To say Ricky isnt the depressed type is a little untrue, he can and has been shown to portray sadness. It would be equally inaccurate to put a picture of him smiling up as that indicates the character is always happy! Ricky laughs, cries, frowns, smiles, so it's fine to put an image of him doing one of those expressions. If we put an image of Ricky dressed in a blonde wig, then I would say you have a point.GunGagdinMoan 14:14, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
- I think all the infobox images should be as neutral as possible when it comes to them showing any emotion. AnemoneProjectors (talk) 14:17, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
- Easier said than done. They're acting and each scene has a purpose, so finding a neutral expression isn't easy, and what's a neutral expression anyway? So long as it's clear and shows what the character looks like, then I dont see the problem. That is a clear image of Ricky facing the camera, seems quite neutral to me.GunGagdinMoan 14:25, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
- The Ricky picture looks ok to me too. Well I said as neutral as possible, I know some pictures have portrayed anger, which I don't think they should do. A smile or a frown is fine though. But they should be a typical representation of the character so someone in a wedding outfit, for example, shouldn't be used. I don't think that's an issue right now but I think one like that was used for Peggy for a while. I know it's hard to do as they're acting all the time. Yeah I agree with that. I try to take them as full face on pics with them looking at the screen, with good lighting. It can be quite tricky to get the money shot :) GunGagdinMoan 14:42, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
- They should deliberately look at the camera for five seconds at least twice a year ;) AnemoneProjectors (talk) 14:59, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
