Robert Moses
This article should link to Robert Moses and his construction of the Cross Bronx Expressway. This project ultimately evicted over a quarter of a million residents from their homes in the projected pathway of the road and cut off the southern part of the borough from the culture of the other parts. This separation directly caused the poverty of the neighborhood (and influenced the poverty of Harlem).

- The Cross Bronx Expressway cut through East Tremont, not the South Bronx. The Bronx was already beginning to suffer from white flight and poverty at the time, and East Tremont was actually viewed as relatively stable. I suppose you could argue that the Cross Bronx Expressway pushed the South Bronx northward, but at the time, East Tremont was not the same as Melrose or Mott Haven to the south. - I would argue that--that in a way, the Expressway caused the expansion of the South Bronx, if the defining characteristic of the area is it's poverty, etc. And isn't characterizing the Cross Bronx as "a part of Robert Moses’s urban renewal project for New York City" very much POV? Especially considering that in the next sentence, it's written that it's "ironically" thought to have contributed to the borough's subsequent decay? (That you call "renewal"?!?!?) There was nothing ironic about that; Moses famously held that cities were for traffic, and he seemed not to give a tinker's damn about the people who lived in them. Notable natives
Please cite reliable sources showing that the individuals on this extensive list have lived in the Bronx.

Removed POV
I changed a few words to remove POV about grafitti in Bronx. Previous writer referred to NYC crackdown on grafitti as a "war on the arts", clearly intended to provoke pro-grafitti, anti-Police sentiments. I reworded the phrasing to reflect a: the crackdown only applies to *illegal* grafitti, and b: a crackdown on illegal activity is not a "war" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.30.199.97 (talk) 02:49, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
Notable Native, Majora Carter designation
majora carter's designation was changed from "MacArthur Fellow and Founder, Sustainable South Bronx" to "green economic consultant". The former is verifiable and finite; while the later is ill-defined and not verifiable. for these reasons, i have changed it back.--believe me (talk) 04:36, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
The former is your attempt at publicity, the latter is the description of Majora Carter taken from her own website and which can be seen by Googling her name:

- The problem is that Majora carter is not known for the Majora Carter Group (and, therefore, being a consultant), but rather for founding Sustainable South Bronx and her other environmental activism. -- Irn (talk) 21:19, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
- Hi, irn, no, the problem is that comments by the names for 90% of the listings clarify their residence or birtth in the Bronx, except for a couple of stray entries, mostly rappers, that may also need to be cleaned up. If they are notable residents and have an article they don't need their awards listed here. In fact, none have any awards listed, only a couple even have their occupations listed, the stray entries mostly of rappers. Admittedly Majora Carter is not notable in the same way Al Pacino is so I can see that her occupation might need to be listed so I left that when I removed the P.R. copy but I see I should not have inserted it because it has raised such a ruckus. These disruptions by Givechase need to stop and I would appreciate it if you took a step back to see the clear conflict of interest. Thanks. -Drawn Some (talk) 06:52, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
- Your comment about the exact residence misses the point. In lists of people across wikipedia, you’ll notice that they include brief explanations of the individual’s notability in addition to the person’s relation to the article (here, residence information; in school articles, year of graduation; etc.). -- Irn (talk) 18:55, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
