== Has nothing to do with the FN FAL ==

The only relationship between the FN 30-11 and the FAL is that both chamber the 7.62mm NATO cartridge and were manufactured by FN. Other than that, they are completely different weapons.

The FN 30-11 is a Mauser 1898-based manually-operated rifle using a rotating bolt with two forward locking lugs. The FAL is a gas-operated semiautomatic rifle using a tilting-block bolt that locks at the rear. In short, it would be hard to find two rifles less alike. To claim the 30-11 is "derived" from the FAL simply indicates that the writer has never even looked at a picture of the rifles in question, let alone handled them or otherwise obtained any actual information about them.
