Not a blatant violation of the username policy. Consider filing a report at the conflict of interest noticeboard. Salvio Let's talk about it! 11:55, 9 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Being discussed with the user. It is likely that this is the artist himself, in which case the username is acceptable. Feezo (send a signal | watch the sky) 11:57, 9 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Not a blatant violation of the username policy. Beeblebrox (talk) 02:27, 9 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    A middle finger isn't a violation? Color me stunned. Eeekster (talk) 02:32, 9 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The words "middle finger" are not offensive unto themselves to the vast majority of society. If his username was "fuckyouguy," what the middle finger gesture is generally understood to mean, it would be a different story. Beeblebrox (talk) 02:38, 9 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree and would block. Further views requested. Newyorkbrad (talk) 03:22, 9 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
In my opnion, this username isn't disruptive enough to warrant an immediate block; personally, I'd suggest to discuss the issue with them and, if this doesn't work, to take it to WP:RFCN... Salvio Let's talk about it! 03:31, 9 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict)(Non-administrator comment) Maybe block and mention in the blocking message that if he adds {{unblock}} with a reasonable username change then xe could do that, or just start a new account with a less offensive name. So many editors on here are of the Western variety, who take the middle finger to be equivalent to fuck you. I agree with NYB. Regards, MacMedtalkstalk 03:33, 9 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict; to Salvio giuliano) This user has no edits. If he or she intends to be a good-faith editor, which based on the username I find unlikely in the extreme, his or her wiki-career is going to be severely disrupted by constant controversy and distraction over the username. It would be better for him or her to start over now with a new and appropriate name. I understand your rationale for suggesting a referral to RFC/N, but every community discussion on that or any other venue takes up a certain amount of the community's collective time, and I cannot consider that a sensible use of that limited resource in this case. Newyorkbrad (talk) 03:37, 9 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
(Non-administrator comment) I would discuss it with them first. While it isn't the best name, it certainly isn't the worst that gets reported here. --Guerillero | My Talk | Review Me 03:44, 9 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
We have an edit, and it is made in good faith. I'd request a username change, rather than block here. It needs to change, but I'm not convinced a block is the best way to get that result. Courcelles 03:46, 9 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Being discussed with the user. Feezo (send a signal | watch the sky) 04:00, 9 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
(Non-administrator comment) I think some are a bit over-sensitive; I don't consider it a blockable name - I think a block would be bitey. I personally wouldn't insist on it changing, even - but if others are concerned, then yeah, sure, ask 'em to change.  Chzz  ►  15:39, 9 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
(Non-administrator comment) I think a softblock would be good for this guy. Although his username violation isn't that serious, it might give other editors a bad impression on this guy. Crazymonkey1123 (Jacob) (Shout!) 16:13, 9 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
So what? I see usernames every day that give me a bad impression. If they don't violate the username policy we don't block them. This is ridiculous. Given the level of disagreement here it would be inappropriate to block this user without going through Wikipedia:Requests for comment/User names first. Being discussed with the user. First edit was good, so we'll take this approach. Daniel Case (talk) 02:34, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I really don't see the point in making a big deal out of childish stuff like this. Is "fart" really that offensive of a word? Beeblebrox (talk) 19:42, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
