In popular culture
Hi. Just wanted to let you know that like all material added to Wikipedia, in popular culture items require a third-party source to establish notability of the cultural reference. IPC items may not simply be cited to the media itself, or to youtube, etc. Please see "In popular culture" content for further information. Yworo (talk) 14:06, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

:Here's the point... the source has to discuss the relation with the subject. The simple existence of a song with the same title as the subject is not adequate, there has to be discussion of the significance of the reference. Otherwise we end up with nothing but a list of unrelated songs and every television episode in which somebody said the phrase. That's simply pointless trivia. RE: Neveh SHalom

According to wikipedia policy, You should use independent 3rd party reliable sources, see WP:RS. The links you provided are self-references, see WP:SPS. Thanks for your contributions, LetsdrinkTea 01:52, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

 • Go to preferences, and edit the section that says "Signature", using HTML to format your signature as you wish. Mine would be <font color="maroon">Lets</font><font color="olive">drink</font><font color="blue">Tea</font>. Its good to have a link to your User page, talk page and possibly contribs as well. LetsdrinkTea 02:05, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 02:03, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know anything about categories, but I just tested the fact tag against a category, and you're right, it doesn't work. One editor who I know used to know about categories is User:Viriditas. He may have come across this before, and there may be a workaround. However, usually people just remove categories they disagree with. You're right that it's a way to avoid NPOV and sourcing requirements. It matters less when it's things like "English people," but with other categories e.g "criminals" and worse, it matters a lot. Help with pages

I just created a page for The New Klezmer Quintet and Brian Choper. On the Brian Choper page, I am having trouble linking The New Klezmer Quintet. I was wondering if you could look at the page and help me out. THis is my first article.

THank you very much.

Ghetto Fighters' House

Thank you for adding a reference to this page, something I've long neglected. I just cited a proper secondary source and hope you don't mind that I deleted yours (as self-referential="primary"), which information is found on the GFH official website. I anticipate that the page content will be expanded relatively soon. -- with appreciation, Deborahjay (talk) 07:14, 19 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
