Intro

The second sentence seems overly biased. How can anyone claim anyone's criticism of popular culture is "misguided"? If you can, please provide an example. Otherwise, I strongly suggest deleting the final phrase of the second sentence.

Controversies?

Out of curiosity, what's so controversial about the controversies described in this article? A bombastic double-barreled critique of Sara Palin, caustic words about J.C. Penney's -- is that a controversy? Anybody object to removing these so-called controversies? Agreed. I am the original creator of the Controversies section, and now realize the error of my ways. The original purpose was to try to keep biased opinions re: the NYT JC Penney article from being posted, to try to give more structure to the subject of her more controversial articles. Upon consideration of the comments previously posted, I will remove the section, as it does not seem to properly fit Wikipedia guidelines.Masontrace (talk) 06:34, 28 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
