Season chronology | |
The seventh season of the American television series Bones premiered on November 3, 2011, on the Fox Network.[2] The show will maintain its previous time slot, airing on Thursdays at 9:00 pm ET. However, the season will contain a reduced order of 17 episodes to accommodate Emily Deschanel's pregnancy.[3]
Cast and characters
Main cast
The seventh season features six actors who receive star billing.
- Emily Deschanel as forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan
- David Boreanaz as FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth, who is the official FBI liaison with the Jeffersonian
- Michaela Conlin as forensic artist Angela Montenegro, who is the wife of Dr. Jack Hodgins
- T. J. Thyne as entomologist Dr. Jack Hodgins, who is the husband of Angela Montenegro
- Tamara Taylor as forensic pathologist and head of the forensic division Dr. Camille Saroyan
- John Francis Daley as Dr. Lance Sweets, an FBI psychologist who studies the relationship between Dr. Brennan and Agent Booth
Recurring cast
- Patricia Belcher as Caroline Julian, a prosecutor that often works with the team (2 episodes)
- Billy Gibbons as Angela's father (1 episode)
- Andrew Leeds as Christopher Pellant, this season's recurring 'tech-savvie' antagonist (1 episode)
- Tina Majorino as Special Agent Genevieve Shaw (1 episode)
- Ryan O'Neal as Max Keenan, Brennan's father
- Ralph Waite as Hank Booth, Seeley's grandfather (1 episode)
- Ty Panitz as Parker Booth, Booth's son
The interns who appeared in the previous season return, with the exception of Vincent Nigel-Murray who was killed. This season also introduces one new intern.
- Michael Grant Terry as Wendell Bray (2 episodes)
- Eugene Byrd as Dr. Clark Edison (1 episode)
- Carla Gallo as Daisy Wick (1 episode)
- Luke Kleintank as Finn Abernathy (1 episode)
- Joel David Moore as Colin Fisher (1 episode)
Episodes
The season is truncated due to Emily Deschanel's pregnancy and maternity leave. Originally, six episodes were scheduled to air in 2011 before the series went on hiatus,[4] but the sixth episode was postponed to January 12, 2012, with the series then going on hiatus until the spring.[5] The season begins a few months after the end of the previous season with Brennan in her third trimester.[6] The season also introduces a new recurring antagonist, whom executive producer Stephen Nathan describes as "more of a 21st-century, tech-savvy foe" compared to the series' past recurring antagonists. The first six episodes will also deal with Booth and Brennan preparing to raise their child.[4]
Fox ordered an additional four episodes, bringing the total number of episodes to 17, which will either be aired after the original 13 episodes of season 7 during summer 2012 as a "mini-season", or will be included with the following season.[3]
