Anahit Misak "Ana" Kasparian[1] (Western Armenian: Անահիտ Միսաք Գասպարեան; Western Armenian pronunciation: [ɑnɑˈhid miˈsɑkʰ kʰɑsbɑˈɾjɑn]) [2]; born July 7, 1986) is an Armenian American co-host and producer for the online news show The Young Turks. Kasparian began working as a fill-in producer for The Young Turks in 2007.[3]

Biography

Anna was born on December 7, 1986 the daughter of Armenian immigrant parents. She describes her parents as "the powerhouse of my motivation and determination"[4]. She learnt to read, write, and speak Armenian fluently at a young age. [4] Kasparian graduated from California State University, Northridge in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts, Journalism (B.A.J.). Kasparian has worked with AOL News, YouTube, TidalTv and On Point. She also worked in news production at CBS radio affiliate KNX (AM) in Los Angeles.[5] In addition to being the host of The Young Turks, Ana Kasparian appears frequently on the English version of the Russian-based channel RT and RT America.[6] In 2007, Kasparian became the producer and co-host of the progressive talk radio on Sirius XM Satellite Radio and now internet show/TV Show The Young Turks/The Young Turks with Cenk Uygur on where she functions as commentator on pop culture and celebrity gossip.[7] She completed her Master of Political Science in political science in 2010.[3]
