Chanda Nagar (Telugu: చందా నగర్) is a suburb of Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh and is located close to Lingampally. It has a mixture of commercial and residential property with shopping malls and housing colonies. Power equipment manufacturer Bharat Heavy Electricals(BHEL)- is about 4 km and the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT)- is about (8 km) from Chandanagar.

It has undergone a drastic change in the recent years specially due to proximity to major IT companies like CA, Microsoft, Wipro, TCS, Infosys, Capgemini, CMC, Honeywell, and Infotech and Hi-Tech city. Many IT professional choose to stay at Chandanagar for the all-round facilities provided and the peaceful environment. Major educational institutes such as Indian School of Business(ISB), International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) and Hyderabad Central University are within 10 km and it is also the nearest major suburb to the newly established Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).

The area has become a multi community living area. In the recent GHMC elections Ashok goud has won the corporator seat.

Commercial area

There are many shopping malls and super markets located in this area. Large malls like RS Brothers and leading brands like Reebok, Addidas, Pepe etc. has showrooms here. Among many super markets, Vijetha is the most famous store.

Chandanagar also has many educational institutions like Sri Chaitanya Jr. college, Narayana Jr. college, etc. and schools like Bhavans, Sancta Maria in the vicinity. Mytri super speciality hostpital, Tesla diagnostics are located here with many other clinics and general hospital.

Gangaram Hanuman temple and Venkateshwara Swamy temple are the most prominent temples in the area.

Public transport

The state-owned APSRTC runs the city bus service, connecting Chandanager to all the major centres of the city and IT Parks. Chandanagar is on the Hyderabad-Mumbai NH road which was widened to six lanes

It is also serviced by Hyderabad's local train MMTS Train service. This has made it very well connected to all parts of the city.

Food And Entertainment

There are many restaurants and bars located in Chandanagar; A-lounge, De Banyan, Swagath naming a few.

Talkie town at Miyapur is the closest multiplex and there are a few more coming up in the area.

Locality

The major apartments/communities around are My Home Jewel, Janapriya Nile Valley (construction in progress), Landmark, CBR Estates, LuxorPark, Luxor Heights(construction in progress) and few others. AP government has completed a project under the Rajiv Swagruha scheme here.

In addition to this GVK Mall would be coming and would become a Landmark to Chandanagar.
