Replaceable fair use File:Long days journey into night poster.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Long days journey into night poster.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Crisco 1492 (talk) 09:49, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Gary Cahill

Gary Cahill has gone to Chelsea, why would it be an "inconstructive edit" ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rivaol57 (talkcontribs) 15:49, 14 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited Gary Cahill, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Stamford Bridge (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Rollback should only be used to revert clear and obvious vandalism. None of my edits are, so I would appreciate it if you use the undo feature instead next time and even better provide a good reason why you are doing so. Don't let the IP fool you, I'm not a newbie to Wikipedia, I just not very active these days. Cheers 90.216.92.251 (talk) 22:55, 23 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:Hunter ver3.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Dipankan In the woods? 11:55, 28 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

AfD and PROD

Hi Quentin. Back in November, you got either an AfD or PROD notification, and it was during one of the template testing project's experiments. If you could go here and leave us some feedback about what you think about the new versions of the templates we tested (there are links to the templates), that would be very useful. (You can also email me at swalling@wikimedia.org if you want.) Thanks! Steven Walling (WMF) • talk 19:17, 17 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Uploading image

Hi Quentin, I have a small request for you if you can do. I see that you have uploaded a File:Moulin rouge poster.jpg back in 2009, but the image that you have uploaded is not particularly good. So, I found this image that is much better than existing one, so if you can to upload a new version, that would be great. I would do it by myself, but I no longer upload new versions on the existing files. Thank you in advance.  InfamousPrince  23:24, 19 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Person born in Wolverhampton in used to live there shocker

I see your point, but the List of residents of Wolverhampton does say "This is a list of notable people born in, or associated with, the city of Wolverhampton" and also has an orphan tag which says "Please introduce links to this page from related articles". Just some food for thought, hehe. Zelda199 (talk) 21:46, 27 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

the issue you and User:Carroback are currently edit warring about is also discussed at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football#Newcastle United - stadium name in infobox. I would suggest to participate in said discussion instead of continuously reverting and re-reverting each other; otherwise, it would be a shame if the WP:3RRNB needs to be informed... --Soccer-holicI hear voices in my head... 08:40, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Bluelikejazzthemovie.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Bluelikejazzthemovie.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 18:06, 1 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It's not against policies. So please can we replace the pic with my PNG version. Please a thousand times. It's much better quality. 77713:22, 4 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, alright. You are a very reasonable user. I know, you enforce policies very well. But, I am, kind-of, a perfectionist. Invictus and Gandhi are one of my favourite movies, and I'm trying my hardest to make them look good and less stubby. PNG is higher quality than that of JPG, and only some images look good in JPG. These don't there's too much noise. So, we've got two options.
1. Wait until I have expanded the article, made it better and cleaner, and then add the PNG image.
Or...
2. We can just add it now.
Please choose one of those options. I'm trying to be a compromising as I can. 77716:39, 4 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Could you help me reconstruct and expand the article? If not do you know any other editors that may be interested? 77717:06, 4 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there QUENTIN, VASCO here,

about your edit that reverted EVERYTHING i added, the following: 1 - i thought that the spacings in storyline should be there because the goal scored by Alonso was from the 2011/12 season, hence i thought it would be a good idea to have it separated from the 2010/11 contents. You thought differently, OK (i just hope if he spends five/six years with Bolton the entire storyline will not be just ONE paragraph);

2 - Player position: we refer to players as "LEFT BACK" or "LEFT WINGER", don't know why the word "sided" must appear - again OK, i won't revert it; 3 - lots of player bios have clubs referred to by nicknames, you removed Trotters, OK for the third time;

4 - the match against Wolves: i added the big dash in the game result, you re-added the incorrect small one, i removed overlinking in the BBC ref (BBC Sport is already linked in REF#3), you also reverted me. I respect your work (and sorry if my penultimate summary came across as exaggerated), hopefully you can respect mine too.

Attentively, have a good week from Portugal - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 16:57, 1 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
