Dacians

The father of history, Herodot, mentions the Dacians in his works as "the bravest and fairest of all the Thracians".

List of Dacian kings

Romanians

After year 106, Roman Emperor Marcus Ulpius Traianus brought in Dacia (the ancient name of România), many Roman colonists. They mixed up with Dacians, who learned Latin Language. The Roman Emperor Caracalla in 212 by "Constitutio Antoniana" made all people of Dacia, Citizens of The Roman Empire. The Slavic people who came later and The Germans called them also Romans. During the time the word Roman changed into Rumân and Român, (Romanian in English). So, Dacians + Romans = Romanians! The term Wallach is from German Language and means Roman or Latin. The term Valachus (Valah) is also from German Language but means Român (Romanian). Slavic people took the word Valah but used it as Vlah. During the time the word Vlah gained also other meanings.

Moldovans vs Moldavians

The soviet Russians called people of Moldavia Republic: "Moldovan" because they wanted to create a new nation different from Moldavians/Romanians. Russians manipulated people of Republic of Moldova and washed their brains to create a new person, the soviet "Moldovan". The real name in English is Moldavian, in Romanian is Moldovean and in Russian is Molidavanin. So "Moldovan" belongs to no language!

A Moldavian is a Romanian who lives between the Carpathians and the Dnister River.
