Paul McCartney FAC
Thanks for all your editing help at Paul McCartney, punctuation is proving a sticking point with some at the current FAC, so your help in that regard is greatly appreciated. ~ GabeMc (talk) 23:56, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you for the kind words. Thank YOU for doing the hard work needed to get this article in a better place! GoingBatty (talk) 23:59, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
- I hope that, when you can find the time, and after you have looked over the article, you can also find time to !vote, whichever way that may be. Thanks. ~ GabeMc (talk|contribs) 22:16, 5 July 2012 (UTC)
- At some point, relax and take a look at how much the article has improved since you started working on it in earnest in mid-April 2012: diff. You should be very proud of what you accomplished, no matter what happens at the FAC. I'm sensing some frustration in your recent comments in the FAC, and would hate for that to overshadow the great work you've done. Get a good night's sleep - you deserve it! GoingBatty (talk) 01:30, 6 July 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah, that's good advice. Thanks. ~ GabeMc (talk|contribs) 01:32, 6 July 2012 (UTC)
- Almost forgot - I'll give the article a fresh read over the weekend, and make a better comment on the FAC page. GoingBatty (talk) 01:44, 6 July 2012 (UTC)

Cats in sandboxes
No this is not about dirt boxes for pets, it is about Wikipedia:Bot_requests/Archive_48#Remove_categories_and_interwiki_links_from_User_sandboxes. I am going batty get rid of categories in sandboxes. Can you give BattyBot a kick up the arse. Ta. -- Alan Liefting (talk - contribs) 23:25, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
- Not tonight Alan, but I'll see if I have time to do this on the weekend. Unfortunately, I can't run this as a bot task while I sleep - I have to review every edit. Are there any particular categories you're interested in cleaning? GoingBatty (talk) 03:37, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
- They are all over the shop. I might see if I can get it done as a completely automated task. It is going to be an ongoing problem. -- Alan Liefting (talk - contribs) 04:30, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
- If you can automate this better than my attempt, it would be wonderful! Good luck! GoingBatty (talk) 16:24, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
- Started today, including adding {{polluted category}} templates to certain categories and removed non-article categories from articles. More tomorrow! GoingBatty (talk) 01:43, 1 July 2012 (UTC)

Discussion
I have protected the article N. R. Narayana Murthy again, and I am attempting to mediate a resolution on the talk page of the article. Since you have been involved in editing this article, I ask you to join the discussion so that a consensus can form. I'm sending this notice to all recent editors. Dennis Brown - 2¢ © 23:55, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
- My only contribution to this article was disambiguating a link. I agree with the way you're trying to resolve the issues on the talk page. Good luck! GoingBatty (talk) 00:52, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
A barnstar for you!
The Teamwork Barnstar | ||
Thank you kindly for all your cooperative efforts, testing, and extended discussion that recently helped get the new {{article issues}} template launched. The end result is a great template that I'm sure we will both put to a lot of good use. Should there ever be something I can assist you with in the future, please don't be shy to give me a shout. Thanks again! :) -- WikHead (talk) 10:59, 2 July 2012 (UTC) |
- Thanks - it was a great team effort! GoingBatty (talk) 23:13, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
Consensus
We need your help to come to a consensus on Talk:List_of_The_Young_and_the_Restless_characters_(2010s) for Ricky Williams. Arjoccolenty (talk) 22:38, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
- I've replied on the talk page, as you requested. However, please note that I have never seen this show. GoingBatty (talk) 23:13, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
- Well - that got heated quickly! No wonder you wanted some assistance! Hope that others more knowledgable than I can put out this fire. Good luck! GoingBatty (talk) 02:26, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
website addresses
Please don't make changes such as www.depeche.fr to depeche.fr as web addresses - though often a redirect exists the two are different web addresses and can refer to different works.
eg see Template_talk:URL#Exclusion_of_prefix_is_technically_and_in_some_cases_practically_wrong, also cf http://www.jonathanmeades.com/ and http://jonathanmeades.com/ Oranjblud (talk) 11:43, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
- Presuming you're refering to this edit, I see that meretmarine.com, depeche.fr, and objectif-ofp.org refer to the same works as www.meretmarine.com, www.depeche.fr, and www.objectif-ofp.org. Note that the External links section contains two domain names without the "www" prefix.
- Template talk:Cite web/Archive 6 has some discussion from editors who believe that using the domain name in the
|work=
parameter is not appropriate at all, but that's a different issue. - I hope you have pointed out the issue to Mr. Meades, so he can work with his web service provider to get the issue fixed. Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 14:33, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
ibid
Err, would you explain this edit? Did you actually read the template {{ibid}}? The template doesn't contain op. cit. since over a year, moreover although (in my eyes) it shouldn't be used, it isn't forbidden! (in contrast to ibid.) Regards, mabdul 12:28, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Mabdul! Thank you for pointing out my mistake. While I was reading Template talk:Ibid and the various MOS pages, I see you already changed the format of the references on Marlboro Music School. (I would have used [[WP:SFN|short citations, but repeated full citations are fine too.) Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 14:05, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
- Using the full citation is normally the fastest way to fix it/the ground problem. I'm trying to clear the ibid backlog more or less regular, but when I get to articles like Edwin Hurlbut, then I have to work for some days on it to fix the citations (in this case there were also references using the wrong publication date, etc.; work on progress on this article). If somebody really wants to improve an article (say to GA status), then he/she can fix the citation style using his/her preferred format or any other format. This isn't then my problem, but I try to fix the worst cases. (like the Hurlbut one, see what I have done in a few edits!) mabdul 14:41, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
- You're doing a nice job - keep up the good work! GoingBatty (talk) 15:08, 4 July 2012 (UTC)

Hi, BattyBot has marked Trimdon Grange as requiring additional citation. Whilst it is a stub, that which is there seems to be sufficiently cited. The biggest single section is on the pit disaster, and most of that is drawn from the coroner's report. I've slightly clarified the citations, perhaps you would consider lifting the {{Refimprove}} tag? Regards, Martin of Sheffield (talk) 09:42, 5 July 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Martin! In December 2009, Smackbot tagged the article as an unreferenced stub. BattyBot noticed that the article is no longer unreferenced, so it changed the tag to {{refimprove}}, since it takes a human to determine when an article is fully referenced. I was hoping that Albert Brallisford and George Bradshaw might have a web reference that could be copied over to Trimdon Grange, but they only referenced the Football League Players' Records book. Keep up the good work on the article, and feel free to be bold when you feel it's fully referenced. Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 01:00, 6 July 2012 (UTC)
Sgt. Pepper Straw Poll
There is currently a Straw poll taking place here. Your input would be appreciated. ~ GabeMc (talk|contribs) 22:42, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
- Done - thanks for the heads up. GoingBatty (talk) 22:52, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
- FYI, look at this post on my talk page from today. ~ GabeMc (talk|contribs) 23:13, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
- FWIW, I really do not want to go here either, but it is being pushed by others, not me. Also, I would like to improve the Pepper article, but until I have a clear consensus at the article page, I'm not going to bother. ~ GabeMc (talk|contribs) 23:35, 7 July 2012 (UTC)

Thanks GoingBatty! You assisted in various ways on the Paul McCartney FAC. Thank you! Without your help McCartney would not be a FA today! ~ GabeMc (talk|contribs) 21:45, 9 July 2012 (UTC) |
You were definitely the driving force behind this FA! You did an amazing job of improving the article and incorporating many other peoples' (sometime contradicting) suggestions into the article. Congratulations! GoingBatty (talk) 22:54, 9 July 2012 (UTC)

AWB edit gone bad
This didn't work. I've undone the edit. --Hammersoft (talk) 02:01, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Hammersoft! Thanks for letting me know. Sorry for not catching that before I saved my edit. I've submitted a bug report for the AWB team. GoingBatty (talk) 02:15, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
- No worries :) --Hammersoft (talk) 03:04, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
- We are having a look to this bug report. http://toolserver.org/~awb/snapshots/AutoWikiBrowser5311_rev8097.zip is now online fixing some older bugs you reported. -- Magioladitis (talk) 20:18, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
- I appreciate that you and Rj always start looking into my bug reports so quickly. Wish I could have been with you at Wikimania to learn more about the code so I could help fix issues too. Thanks for the new SVN - there's a bunch of fixes in there that I'm looking forward to using. Also eager to see how well it deals with the new {{multiple issues}} format. Thanks! Merge discussion for P.S.N.A.College of Engineering and Technology
An article that you have been involved in editing, P.S.N.A.College of Engineering and Technology , has been proposed for a merge with another article. If you are interested in the merge discussion, please participate by going here, and adding your comments on the discussion page. Thank you. KenBailey (talk) 09:23, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
- Looks like the merge has already been completed. Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 15:59, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
Entitled
Old pal, the AWB typo rule "Titled" needs to be reined in, I think. Dictionary.cambridge.org (British English) has a definition for "entitled":
- "to give a title to a book, movie, etc.:
- Her latest novel, entitled "The Forgotten Child," is arriving in bookstores this week."
And oxforddictionaries.com has a similar definition. Chris the speller yack 04:05, 15 July 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Chris - thanks for letting me know. I'll take your sources as being more reliable than the first few web sites I found, such as:
- I've removed the typo rule. Thanks again. GoingBatty (talk) 04:14, 15 July 2012 (UTC)
