::Oh, yes, that was you. I completely disagreed with you, but rather appreciated that you, well, just commented on the situation, without attacking the players. A couple of late supports did well, too, not post-degeneration late, but still after the bust. There should be a "thanks for being the adult barnstar." But it might be too infrequently given out. Talkback

Hello, Anna Frodesiak. You have new messages at Talk:Anthony Wile.

Nice sources. Good find, cheers Mr T(Talk?) (New thread?) 07:23, 1 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It looks wonderful! A great new asset. Would you consider some sort of table thingy? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 17:16, 1 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
A table in this particular instance may not be as functional or visually appealing, because most of the articles either don't have images or have small trademarked/copyrighted images of their company logos that wouldn't be usable on the list article due to copyright matters. In this case, unless I'm mistaken, the article would have most entries with blank boxes in the image areas of a table. Of course, it would be possible to omit the image fields and just have a shorter table with images on the right-hand side of the article. Another matter is the time it takes to fill-in short descriptions for each entry...very time consuming! Northamerica1000(talk) 03:53, 2 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and by the way, it looks like your hard work is being appreciated: [1] Anna Frodesiak (talk) 00:40, 2 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the stats again! I'm impressed with the number of page hits to the List of pastries article. Quite unexpected. Northamerica1000(talk) 03:53, 2 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Very tasty. I've only had beer from maybe a dozen of them since I prefer Belgian, but cheers to you. For you, Anna, I have a very special lambic in the closet--une biere d'amour. Drmies (talk) 04:01, 2 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ahhh, beer, the beverage of romance, (except for all the belching). :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 02:49, 4 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Many thanks for your messaage

Many thanks indeed for the message you left on the talk page of my userpage about the article List of pastries - good to see that it has attracted interest! Best wishes, ACEOREVIVED (talk) 14:43, 2 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Changing a file name on Commons?

Hello Anna banana. I was going through some sea slug articles and I see that This image is incorrectly titled. As I just now noted in the "Description" section, this species was incorrectly identified on Flickr. This is not Tambja sagamiana, but Tambja gabrielae. Do you think you could re-name the file? Thanks! Hugs, Invertzoo (talk) 17:22, 3 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

 Done ... and added to a new cat. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 02:47, 4 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Random question

Hi,
Why do you have User:Anna Frodesiak/ANI? Keeping a transclusion of the world's greatest source of drama onto a userpage is a little... eccentric. Not that eccentricity is always bad, of course. bobrayner (talk) 22:25, 3 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent question. I forgot it was there. As I recall, somebody pasted a chunk of content from an the link to an ANI discussion there ages ago. Sometimes I am blocked from viewing ANI, likely because the word "noticeboard" gets detected by the Great Firewall of China. I think it was about some woman promoting her husband's stuntman business, and she was mad at me for AfDing it or something. I will speedy the page now. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 02:27, 4 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. Have fun! bobrayner (talk) 07:49, 4 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

QCT

Hi Anna,

Thanks for your message and suggestion to expand Peripheral quantitative computed tomography. However, PQCT is in fact a subheading of QCT technology itself and that's why I want to create the page. How can I proceed? Thanks TSP Evol (talk) 12:45, 4 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I'll take your word for that. :) Okay then, sure, continue to prepare Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/QCT, and when it's ready we can name it Peripheral computed tomography. Is that right?
Next issue is Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/QCT appears to contain copy pasted content from other websites. Is this so? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 12:50, 4 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

QCT

Hi Anna, thanks for your note. No, I think this page should be entitled Quantitative Computed Tomography or preferrrably, QCT as its commonly known in the medical industry. Can you indicate what looks like it's been copied and pasted? That shouldn't be the case. TSP Evol (talk) 13:12, 4 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Oops, of course. I just read what I wrote. Okay, let's avoid the abbreviation and use Quantitative computed tomography.
I copy pasted several sentences into google and it came up verbatim at other sites. Considering you wrote it, you are best able to answer whether or not any is copy pasted. What do you think? Do you remember copy pasting some? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 13:16, 4 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Comment from a random passerby: I think Quantitative computed tomography is better because "QCT" is a three letter acronym which might easily be used for other things. (A quick google turns up lots of other things called "QCT" and I think at least two of them pass WP:N). So, it's probably best for QCT to be a redirect to the full name, and some day somebody will build it into a disambiguation page instead. bobrayner (talk) 13:32, 4 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, acronym. That's what I meant. Thanks Bob. I'm a little foggy today. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 13:55, 4 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

QCT

Hi Anna, I pasted some sentences into Google and see what you mean. I will make changes to the language in the sections that mirror what comes up in search but the information itself won't change that much, that is general information that can be cited. Thanks for your help. I'll edit the troublesome bits. TSP Evol (talk) 13:45, 4 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Splendid. It's important that it's all written from the source into your own words. See: WP:COPYVIO.
About references, at the end of a statement in the article (mid-sentence or at the end after punctuation), add the reference like this:
<ref>{{cite book | last = Quinn | first = Patricia | title = ADD and the College Student: A Guide for High School and College Students with Attention Deficit Disorder | publisher = Magination Press | year = 1994 | location = New York, NY | pages = 2–3 | url = http://www.maginationpress.com/4416630.html | isbn = 1-55798-663-0}}</ref>
Here are a couple of blanks:
<ref>{{cite book |title= |last= |first= |authorlink= |coauthors= |year= |publisher= |location= |isbn= |page= |pages= |url= |accessdate=}}</ref>
<ref>{{cite journal |last1= |first1= |last2= |first2= |year= |title= |journal= |volume= |issue= |pages= |publisher= |doi= |url= |accessdate= }}</ref>

Thanks

Anna, people like you are those which make us believe in some hope for Wikipedia. Wholeheartedly all the best, Lignovitae (talk) 23:03, 4 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know what I've done to deserve such kind words, but thank you very much. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 05:47, 5 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Re

No problem! I've watchlisted the article, and have already added it to the infobox and linked it in the main article. ~~ Lothar von Richthofen (talk) 06:29, 5 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. It's much appreciated. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 06:32, 5 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ping! A possible class project that may need your expertise

Hi Anna.
There appears to be a class project going on, under the subject code "Lib100", which appears to be at tertiary level: see User:Nmisgot/sandbox/Lib100 Students. I remember how you lead the work on:

I'm going to welcome all the students and their professor, but I think your expertise is needed here.
--Shirt58 (talk) 10:39, 5 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Shirt58. I introduced myself. Thanks for the link. I would be happy to help if asked. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 13:23, 5 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Rashmi Singh (journalist), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Indian (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Take a look at this copy-paste work

Kindly take a look the article about Gurjant Singh Budhsinghwala. Which I tagged with copy-paste here. Check the current duplication report. And if you could please take the necessary steps that would be great. Also check the talk. Mr T(Talk?) (New thread?) 08:22, 6 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It seems to be cleaned up. I removed a paragraph taken from another site. I don't think there was any mirror mistake as it's all too recent. I think all the copy paste was just cleaned up. It's probably safe to remove the copyvio tag now, so I removed it. Also, I can't visit the site in the report to check it out.
As you probably now see, there are tons and tons and tons of copyvios. The editor approach of simply deleting offending text is really the only practical way, and what we are supposed to do. See "in a nutshell" at Wikipedia:Copyright violations and Wikipedia:Text Copyright Violations 101#If only part of the article is a problem. If we were to stop and rewrite and resource everything, we wouldn't stand a chance. Drop the folks at Wikipedia:Contributor copyright investigations a line and they will tell you the same thing. Ask Moonriddengirl, she's nice. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 05:44, 7 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
