Pape Village is a multi-cultural neighborhood in Toronto, Canada.

The three-day weekend happens all summer in this part of the city, yet it seems like most residents have trouble deciding which day to rest - Sunday, Friday or Monday.

Pape Avenue is the focal point of an area filled with bakeries, butcher shops, tarot card readers and affordable apartments. Along with Kensington Market and The Danforth, Pape Village is a crucial destination for both travellers and newcomers thinking of relocating to the city. The area is rumored to compete with Montréal for the rights to call itself home to the most beautiful women on the continent.

One of the most accessible and peaceful places to witness a sunset in Toronto is along the eastern crest of the Don Valley.

Weekend Car Culture

A Saturday in the T.Dot isn't complete without a drive across The Danforth and up Pape Street to show off your ride. Bikes, Escalades and alternative vehicles regularly compete for an audience amid fine vintage and European cars.

With ample parking along the street connecting classic service stations, convenience stores, fast-food outlets and room enough for even the widest custom truck or service vehicle, Pape Street remains an important thoroughfare for experienced drivers wishing to escape local city bottlenecks. On days when the Don Valley Parkway seems like a deathtrap, lazy drivers with time to spare can usually find a few ways to stop and rest in the village.

Travel & Accommodation

Unfortunately for the urban explorer, Pape Village has a remarkable lack of hotels and temporary accommodation facilities for those wishing to experience the growing dance, theatre and combat athletics communities in the city. However, the Toronto Transit Commission offers subway and bus service linking Pape Village to the rest of the city, including the downtown core and The Beaches, where both budget travellers and the wealthy can find a variety of styles of accommodation.

Services

Newcomers to the area - and those from other parts of the planet - should be aware of the services offered by Rogers Cable, Toronto Hydro, Re/Max and Scotiabank.
