Tickety Toc (Korean: 시계마을 티키톡!) is a computer-generated animated cartoon series created by Funnyflux, Zodiak Rights (the international distribution and rights exploitation arm of Zodiak Media Group), and High 1 Entertainment.
Story
The show was originally named Tic Toc House, but the name was quickly changed to Tickety Toc before airing on Nick Jr., because the name Tic Toc House was too common for Nick Jr. due to the term "house" being overused by some shows. The main characters were originally named Ali and Mimi, but their names were changed to Tommy and Talulah due to their names being too short. They even changed their looks, too.
Characters
Main characters
- Tommy is an 8 year old boy who is smart, funny, and resourceful. He is the twin brother of Tallulah. He plays the drums while chiming the time.
- Tallulah is Tommy's twin sister, also 8. She has a big imagination and is extremely inventive. She plays the trumpet while chiming the time.
- Pufferty is a train with a dog's face. He helps Tommy and Tallulah get to the clock to chime the time.
- McCoggins is a jaguar-like creature and Tickety Town's "Clock Doc". He is wise, patient, and trusting.
- Hopparoo is a rabbit who is McCoggins' apprentice. His goal is to become a maintenance man like McCoggins. He is very hyperactive.
- Madame au Lait is a French cow who loves cooking. She is also skilled at table tennis.
Format
Each episode begins in a clock shop. The Tickety Toc Clock is in the middle of the wall and springs to life as each hour passes. The clock is a portal into the magical world of Tickety Town. Tommy and Tallulah "race against time to keep the clock ticking and chime in the time.
Tommy and Tallulah do everything with utmost enthusiasm, commitment and positivity--even if that gets them further and further into trouble! They share that 'I want it to happen now' impatience of all preschoolers. Tommy and Tallulah love each other, back each other up and egg each other on a convincing 'well if you're sure, then I'm sure' is all it takes to confirm both their commitments to a course of action.
This 'can do' spirit can often produce a calamitous outcome, but their individual approach to a sticky situation and joint resourcefulness always shines through and saves the day! Through Tommy and Tallulah's madcap adventures, Tickety Toc explores concepts of teamwork, social responsibility and problem solving in a fun and engaging way." [1]
