He started his career as a roadie/light man for Hotshot, which at one time or another featured at least four people who were also in [[Danger Danger]] at one time or another. (Mike Pont was in Hotshot both before and after Danger Danger. Bruno Ravel and Steve West were in Hotshot before Danger Danger. Al Pitrelli was in Hotshot after Danger Danger.)

Kelly Nickels (born January 5, 1962) is a bassist who has played in various bands including Sweet Pain, Faster Pussycat and L.A. Guns.[1]

He was replaced in Sweet Pain by Victor Prestin. He was badly injured in a motorcycle accident (at an intersection on the Sunset Strip in California) in October 1986, when he was still with Faster Pussycat. As a result, he injured his leg badly (in seven different places) and had to walk with a cane for a long time afterwards.
