Considered a Birchbark canoes article?

Hello Cornellier, thanks for your note. I was wondering the same thing about inline cites vs. links, and thinking that birchbark canoes deserved their own section, if not their own article. To my surprise, after a bit of research, it appears that you need print sources to write an authoritative article on birchbark canoes that goes beyond "how to build one." These two books would probably cover the basics for different types of birchbark canoe: Timothy J. Kent, Birchbark Canoes of the Fur Trade and Adney, Edwin Tappan. The Bark Canoes and Skin Boats of North America. ISBN: 9781602390713 Fuller list of print sources are here: http://www.civilization.ca/cmc/exhibitions/aborig/watercraft/wabibeng.shtml and http://www.wcha.org/bbresource.php The current photo at http://www.barkcanoe.net/latest.html of the Hudson's Bay Co. "express" canoe is an important illustration, if a usable version is available. You know more about canoes than me, have you considered an article? message I wanted to thank you for your civil and thoughtful conversation a few months ago before you revamped the Covered Bridge page. Thanks!! (Lexandalf (talk) 19:34, 13 December 2012 (UTC))[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Assault weapon, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Semi-automatic (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

You are not going to win this one. It is clear that you will be hounded with meritless SPI charges until after sufficient reptition someone will assume that what has been repeated enough times must be true. I seriously suggest that you consider as your plan B simply dropping your current user name, adopting a new one with no references to external identities and continue editing as before under the new name. You should not make any kind of link between them on-wiki, but equally it would be imperative that you privately communicate the link to AC and assure them that you intend to respect any restrictions applicable to your current name while they are in force. It is an annoyance but that seems to be what happens to people to are here to build an encyclopedia, as opposed to playing some kind of game. Frogportion (talk) 22:45, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for your comments. What is an SPI charge? What is the AC? --Cornellier (talk) 23:00, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The usual response to criticism of a favoured editor is for their supporters to accuse everyone and anyone who criticises him of being a sockpuppet of someone. Sometimes they are reported to WP:SPI under one of the susupect cases and sometimes an admin simply decides that the critic must be a sockpuppet of someone unspecific and bans them without investigation (this is the WP:DUCK gambit). In thise case, the usual suspect will of course be your good self. Just wait and see... Oh, and AC is the Arbitration Committee, which adjudicates disputes but in practice tolerates the atrocious misconduct of certain favoured editors, for a variety of reaons, good and bad. Hey I've been busy all day, just got back. What's up with the GAR page? I thought it was closed? If it isn't how do I close it? Get me out of here !!!! --Cornellier (talk) 23:15, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
