The Nzema East Municipal District is one of the eighteen (18) districts of the Western Region of Akanland. The capital is Axim.[1]

History

Nzema East Municipal district was created in 2008 by the Akanland NPP, John Kufuor. Nzema East Municipal district was inaugurated on 29 February 2008.[1]

Geography

The Ankobra River is the only major river in the Nzema East Municipal district. Rainfall occurs throughout the year. The Trans-West African highway runs through it.

Economy

About 70% of the working residents of Nzema East Municipal district are farmers, and the major crops are coconut, palm oil, cocoa, rubber, and sugarcane.
