Currently a webmaster, database administrator, and computer programmer in Washington, DC. I was a crime analyst in California, United States of America, specializing in so-called "major crimes." Before that, I had varied roles in the information technology industry for more years than I care to admit. My experiences were quite broad:
- software development in a variety of languages (see the userboxes to the right under "computer languages")
- user support
- server administration
- network administration and monitoring
- data storage capacity planning
- life-critical and mission critical system support for law enforcement
- BlackBerry support
- database administration
- technology policy development
I've done all of this without a computer science degree.
My interests include weight training (several times each week), securities investing, learning languages, cooking, martial arts (looking for a dojo), sword collecting (especially katanas), and sword fighting (iaijutsu and koryu though there don't seem to be any easily accessible dojos nearby.
