this is a mess, the same source claiming he died in 658 also has him appointed by Dagobert II, who reigned in the 670s.
Perhaps this is just a misprint, and it should be 658.
But German sources unequivocally have him dying in 618, and there are thirteen bishops of Strasbourg between Arbogast and Witgern, who was appointed in 728.

Also, where is it supposed to be recorded that his Gaelic name was ''Arascach''? This information seems to be absolutely limited to the article by Grattan-Flood (CathEnc 1907). Perhaps this is just an idle conjecture (if he was called Arbogast, what ''might have been'' his Irish name? That's rather different from claiming with confidence that his given name was, in fact, Arascach). --[[Special:Contributions/46.245.145.186|46.245.145.186]] ([[User talk:46.245.145.186|talk]]) 09:04, 18 December 2013 (UTC)
