I was wondering if we could set up Template:R from abbreviation as its own template which puts redirects in the :Category:Redirects from abbreviations category. Currently the redirect to Template:R from initialism results in the RFA template putting all redirects which use it in :Category:Redirects from initialisms which I think is a problem because there are abbreviations which are not initialiams or acronyms. Stuff I saw in Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:R_from_abbreviation for example like PhDs (the h not being an initial) or Journo, which I just added it to. I'm going to go through the WLH for the template and assign either acronym/initialism where applicable, clearing it out so we can hopefully use it for non-initial purposes. ::Thank you for your kind words, Martin! This sounds like a good idea to me, Ranze. There are also Redirects from letter-word combinations plus the "R to" cats and Rcats, such as R to abbreviation with Redirects to abbreviations. Not sure how many abbs there are like "PhD", but if you do this, Ranze, it is important that future editors will be able to understand the rationales like "Why is this page in Redirects from abbreviations and not in Redirects from initialisms, instead?" and so forth. The definition of "acronym" is not always clear, as well. It's a bit of a hornet's nest that has been on my list of things to do for awhile, now. It would definitely be great to get some help with it! – <small><span style="color:darkblue; font-family:Segoe Script">Paine Ellsworth</span></small> <font size="1" color="blue">C<small>LIMAX</small>!</font> 21:37, 3 February 2014 (UTC) |

Articles for Creation urgently needs YOUR help!
Articles for Creation is desperately short of reviewers! We are looking for urgent help, from experienced editors, in reviewing submissions in the pending submissions queue. Currently there are 990 submissions waiting to be reviewed and many help requests at our Help Desk.
If the answer to these questions is yes, then please read the reviewing instructions and donate a little of your time to helping tackle the backlog. You might wish to add AFC status or AfC Defcon to your userpage, which will alert you to the number of open submissions.
We would greatly appreciate your help. Currently, only a small handful of users are reviewing articles. Any help, even if it's just 2 or 3 reviews, it would be extremely beneficial. |

Important Notice: Your 2013 Arbitration Committee Election vote
Greetings. Because you have already cast a vote for the 2013 Arbitration Committee Elections, I regret to inform you that due to a misconfiguration of the SecurePoll we've been forced to strike all votes and reset voting. This notice is to inform you that you will need to vote again if you want to be counted in the poll. The new poll is located at this link. You do not have to perform any additional actions other than voting again. If you have any questions, please direct them at the election commissioners. --For the Election Commissioners, v/r, TParis
