*Reason: I registered Ordercrazy (a captcha-name) 2011 at wp:de, changed it to a Global SUL-Account since. I didn't realize back then, that wp:en Ordercrazy was already taken. en:Ordercrazy has no edits (since 2009) and seems have never been active in any way in en:wikipedia. Therefore I'd like to ask to add en:user:ordercrazy to my global Account https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Ordercrazy if this is possible. --[[Special:Contributions/188.110.221.173|188.110.221.173]] ([[User talk:188.110.221.173|talk]]) 10:39, 25 February 2014 (UTC) aka https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benutzer:Ordercrazy aka https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Ordercrazy |

Any requests for usurpation of global accounts with attachments on other projects should be made at meta:Steward Requests/Username changes. Only requests to usurp en.wiki accounts without significant attachments on other projects will be processed here. |
No English? En-0? Find an ambassador in your language to help. |
This page is a forum in which users can request, and global renamers (including Stewards) familiar with local usurpation guidelines, can consider and carry out, the "usurpation" of usernames primarily held locally. This consists of renaming an existing account in order to vacate the username and allow another user to take it.
Please note that global accounts whose "home wiki" is another project or which have significant attachments on other projects cannot be usurped here; these requests must be made at meta:Steward requests/Username changes (see meta:Help:Unified login).
A few users have agreed to provide assistance with the mechanics of this process. If you wish to assist as well, please read the linked page carefully.
Notes
- The account you want to usurp must have the English Wikipedia as its "home wiki", i.e. or should be displayed next to the en.wikipedia.org entry for the account at Special:CentralAuth.
- The account you want to usurp should have no edits or significant log entries to qualify for usurpation (though rare exceptions are made in some circumstances). This includes edits or log actions on other Wikimedia projects. These can be checked through Special:CentralAuth.
- Please do not request usurpation of another account if your own user account is less than several months old, or barely used. In order to ensure that usurped usernames be put to good use, we prefer only to grant requests from reasonably well-established users.
Instructions
- Log in to your present account.
- Please do not leave a talk page message or e-mail the target account yourself. If this becomes necessary, a user familiar with the usurpation process will do so.
- Click here to place your request.
- Replace "
TARGET NAME
" with the username you wish to usurp. - Replace "
YOUR REASON
" with a description of why you want to usurp the account. - Leave the "Subject/headline" field blank.
- Replace "
- If the URL above does not work, simply copy the following text, click "edit this page" and paste it at the bottom of the page. Modify it as indicated.
{{subst:usurp|TARGET NAME|reason=YOUR REASON}}

- Preview the changes and make sure both names are spelled correctly. Click "Publish changes".
- Your request is now complete and ready to be processed after the hold period (usually about a week). If the owner of the target account does not object, a global renamer will fulfill your request provided other requirements are met. Do not be surprised when you find yourself unable to log in to your old account.
- Requests that do not adhere to these instructions or that are grossly malformed are subject to removal.
Please place your request in the section for the current day, at the bottom of the list. It is currently 02:31:13, 12 October 2024 (UTC) (

- Note:
- The target username has made edits to Wikipedia. Due to licensing concerns, this may be a barrier to usurpation.
- Target user has 5 undeleted edits and 0 deleted edits. An SUL account (primary enwiki) exists for the target user, with 10 total edits on 2 wikis. Requesting user has 7 undeleted edits and 1 deleted edit, for a total of 8 edits. An SUL account (primary enwiki) exists for the requesting user, with 8 total edits on 4 wikis. - There exists a global account, you would need to also file at commons:commons:USURP and then also at m:SR/SUL. Or choose a different name. Please let us know, –xenotalk 21:02, 18 February 2014 (UTC)

- Reason: For reasons I do not understand my password chosen on first creating my account is no longer recognised. I have no record of it being changed. It seems I did not provide an email when first registering. I cannot think why not but it means I cannot use the 'change password' facility. I would prefer to continue with the same user name. Your help welcomed. Thank you.

- How screwy is that edit count! The account's so old that it must be suffering from some ancient database problem. — Scott• talk 11:07, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- I am still concerned about hu:user:Scott who has the best claim and has been contributing intermittently since 2009 (WP:SUL/C). Do you think you could clear it with that user or try hu:WP:USURP? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Xeno (talk • contribs) 16:56, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Xeno. Given that he's only made 32 edits in 4 years, none of which have ever been to a talk page, and doesn't have an email address set, getting in touch with him will be virtually impossible. Also given that he's not made any edits in other languages, and I occasionally do, I think that my claim to the SUL is stronger. I have no desire to usurp the name from its only other (occasionally) active user; he can keep using it locally without the SUL. (That's not unprecedented; see the SUL info for Hex, my previous user name. There's another Hex in China who's been happily editing there despite my having the SUL for that name.) — Scott • talk 17:29, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- You do not technically have any claim to the SUL because your username is not presently Scott. As indicated in the guidelines, "bureaucrats will typically decline to process requests by local users that would ... have the effect of allowing a local user to take over the claim from an active user on another project, even if the SUL account has not yet been created." That being said, this is a borderline case (the user hasn't edited for 9 months, among the other points you mentioned) and I would welcome further opinions from other bureaucrats (user:WJBscribe?). –xenotalk 15:53, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, I follow. Thanks; I'm quite keen on this idea, so will look forward to seeing more opinions. I hope the consensus will be that it won't cause any harm to my Hungarian namesake; I don't think that it would. — Scott • talk 23:35, 20 February 2014 (UTC)

- Scott asked me to take a look as well; one concern I have is that if we give you "User:Scott", you may not have it for very long, if I understand the upcoming SUL switchover correctly. That is, since there are different "User:Scott"s on different language Wikipedias, you'd wind up getting automatically renamed to "User:Scott-enwiki" or something like that. (Or maybe you wouldn't, I'm not sure.) @Deskana: do you have an updated timeline of when this is supposed to go into effect? I'll also ping @MBisanz: since he's a steward and thus more familiar with the cross-wiki ramifications. 28bytes (talk) 17:02, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks 28. There isn't currently a global account for "Scott", so if I get it here I'll be able to register it, and thus end up keeping it when WP:SUL/F happens. — Scott • talk 17:09, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
- I see you've gained control of at least one User:Scott, so that would seem to alleviate Xeno's concern that you lack standing for an SUL claim because you aren't User:Scott anyplace. I suppose we could ask you to make 33 gnoming edits on the Hebrew Wikipedia to solidy your SUL claim to the name, but that might be a bit too much bureaucracy even for a bureaucrat. At this point my inclination would be to grant your request, but as Xeno says it is a borderline case and I'd still like to hear from some of the other crats who were pinged. Keep in mind you'll still need to leave a note on the current User:Scott's talk page and give him seven days to object (unlikely though it may be that he'd even see it.) 28bytes (talk) 17:30, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
- Ha... I think I filed that a little prematurely, considering that it will be pretty weird having it if I'm not granted Scott here. It also struck me that I could simply register the global account on any wiki where it doesn't exist already, but that might seem like I was trying to cheat, or something. So I've not done that out of respect for y'all. That said, do you really think I need to do the notification? The other Scott's been gone for 12 years and 2 months. Waiting a week for him to respond feels a bit like procedure for procedure's sake. — Scott • talk 17:46, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
- If you're the first person who's been motivated to acquire the SUL, I don't see any reason why you can't log into he-wiki as User:Scott and try to do so. 28bytes (talk) 17:57, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
- That's cool, thanks. However, I'm affectionate enough for this joint (and my account) that I want my SUL to be associated with it, even if that doesn't particularly mean anything. :) I'll wait for the outcome of this request. — Scott • talk 18:07, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
- I was just about to pop over and leave the notification - it's funny how much less urgent things feel at the weekend - when I noticed that xeno has done it for me. Thank you xeno! — Scott • talk 15:31, 22 February 2014 (UTC)

--188.110.221.173 (talk) 10:39, 25 February 2014 (UTC) aka https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benutzer:Ordercrazy aka https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Ordercrazy
