Sosha Makani (Persian: سوشا مکانی, born 18 November 1986) is an Iranian football goalkeeper who currently plays for Persepolis in the Iran Pro League.

Club Career

Early years

Makani started his career with Fajr Sepasi's Youth Academy. He played two season for Fajr Sepasi and played forty-two game and scored one Goal.

Pas Hamedan

He joined Pas Hamedan in the summer of 2008 and signed a two-year contract until the end of the 2009–10 season and played forty-four games.

Steel Azin

He joined Steel Azin in the summer of 2010 and signed a one-year contract until the end of the 2010–11 season. He became famous for instigating a fight during a match between Steel Azin and Persepolis.

Naft Tehran

He joined Naft Tehran in the summer of 2011 and signed a three-year contract until the end of the 2013–14 season. He played fifty-six games for Naft Tehran.

Foolad

Makani joined Foolad during the winter transfer window of the 2013–14 season. Makani helped Foolad win the 2013–14 Iran Pro League title, and reach the knockout stages of the 2014 AFC Champions League.[1]

Persepolis

After becoming the Pro League's champions with Foolad and with 13 clean sheets in 2013–14 Iran Pro League the fourth best in the league, Makani had offers from many teams. He joined Persepolis in the summer of 2014 and signed a two-year contract until end of 2015–16 season.[2]

Makani paly 6 game in Iran national under-23 football team.

Senior

Makani was invited to the Iranian national team by Carlos Queiroz and played in the 2012 WAFF Championship.

Makani has been suspended for the opening game vs. Nigeria in the 2014 FIFA World Cup after the World Cup qualifying post-match altercation[3] against South Korea on 18 June 2013.[4][5] He was selected in Iran's 30-man provisional squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup by Carlos Queiroz.[6]
