Tokyogirl79 hello I have changed my username with your guidance. Thank you for this. I am just ensuring the right info is out there. I am new to wikipedia. Regarding the Starkillers page I have no connection or contact with the original editors / other editors of the page whatsoever, nor have I contributed towards the page in any way. Whoever edited the page may have failed to meet some of the wiki guidelines. As you suggested I have tried to contact the admin who deleted the page but I havn't heard any response yet. Is there any help from your end the article can recieve? Maybe the original editors did not cite things properly or did not use appropriate language.   • You just recently posted on his talk page, so we would have to give him more time to answer the post. If he doesn't answer you can petition DRV for article re-creation in the mainspace, although it'd probably be better if you asked for it to be userfied and run through AfC. I might be able to get you an AfC copy, although you'd probably still have to run it through Postdlf or DRV before submitting it to the mainspace, though. Tokyogirl79 thank you! so when you say re-creation you mean anyone can recreate it and put it up for AfC before it can go to mainspace? Also what is the undeletion process then? Sorry for so many questions new to wikipedia so just ensuring I have all the terminology right!

Starkillers and reliable sources

Kiran – following on from postdlf's reply to you on his talk page, I thought I would add my own thoughts here, as it's disrespectful of me to keep butting in on his own talk page. Apart from the guidelines he has already suggested you look at, you might want to check out Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons#Reliable sources as well.

Basically, Wikipedia discourages the use of any self-published source by the person in question for use in an article about them. This includes not just his personal website, but also Facebook, Twitter or other social media that he may use – Wikipedia encourages material from independent third-party sources. Also, the notability guidelines talk about having reached at least one country's official national charts. Beatport, iTunes, etc. are not official national charts and therefore do not meet the notability guidelines – I have numerous DJ friends who have records out on Beatport and who have taken part in DJ competitions, but they wouldn't be considered notable. So in order to prove Starkillers' notability for a Wikipedia article, the sources should not include anything from his website or social media, no non-official charts, and no information from personal blogs or gossip websites. In short, the information would need to come from newspapers, music magazines, independent music websites with an editorial team, and chart positions from national charts. Hope this helps. Richard3120 (talk) thank you so much for this info this really helps Richard! This is one of his hit tracks right here with its own Wiki page that charted in Belgium: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pressure_(Nadia_Ali_song) I can provide much more 3rd party sources than that to prove his notability. Would you think it would be a good idea for me to put this up on "Articles of Creation" as another admin had suggested me? That way other editors can pick it up and contribute to it.

No, I think postdlf is correct, you can't submit an article for creation a second time once it has been deleted, you have to make a case for it to be reverted. The Belgian chart is the Tip chart, which isn't the main chart: it's the equivalent of the Billboard Bubbling Under chart, i.e. new records likely to make the main chart. I've no idea where that UK chart position comes from either, as the UK chart only goes up to 100.

You may want to use your sandbox to build up your argument and to collect sources – if you are logged in under your username you will see "Sandbox" in the menu right at the top of the screen, towards the right hand side. Clicking on that will bring you to your own personal "play area" where you can try out various things, collect information and work on articles, without altering anything on the main Wikipedia site. Las Vegas EDM

Looking for sources, my 30-minute assessment is that if you don't come up with something solid in a major magazine or newspaper about Terranova, it may not pass the notability bar when it's reviewed. I think a more fruitful direction may be to focus on the Las Vegas EDM scene, which is most likely notable by Wikipedia's standards, and of which Terranova is indisputably a part. Individual items in a larger article don't have to meet notability criteria, so by this standard Terranova and Crystal Method would likely have their own subsections if it turns out, as I read in one source, that they are the two biggest artists to come out of Las Vegas. I think the right thing is to go ahead and develop it as it stands. Then when we think we're nearly complete, we can decide if Starkillers needs a new article. That would expose the new article to its own notability criteria, which might not be wise. Conflict of interest in Wikipedia

Hi Kiran. You have disclosed on your User page that you are a volunteer working for Brawla Records and Starkillers. Please be aware that you still have a conflict of interest in Wikipedia; if you read WP:COI you can see that what matters is that you have a relationship external to Wikipedia, and you are here wanting to edit about the entity with which you have a relationship.

The way we manage COI has two steps. Disclosure is the first step, which you have started to do, which is great. It would be ideal if you would add: "Because of my relationship with Brawla, I have a conflict of interest in Wikipedia with regard to them and Starkillers, a band on the label." Once the draft article is created in your sandbox, you should also disclose your COI on the Talk page. Brianhe or I can help you with that, once the draft is started - just ping me.

The second step is a form of peer review. This piece may seem a bit strange to you at first, but if you think about it, it will make sense. In Wikipedia, editors can immediately publish their work, with no intervening publisher or standard peer review -- you ~can~ just create an article, click save, and viola there is a new article, and you can go into any article, make changes, click save, and done. No intermediary. What we ask editors who have a COI to do, is a) if you create an article, submit it through the WP:AFC process so it can be reviewed before it publishes. This is what you have been advised to do b) And if you want to change content in an existing article on a topic where you have a COI (for instance, on the Starkillers article, once it is created) we ask you to propose content on the Talk page for others to review and implement before it goes live, instead of doing it directly yourself. You can make the edit request easily - and provide notice to the community of your request - by using the "edit request" function as described in the conflict of interest guideline.
