Narayan Seva Sansthan, established in 1985, is a charitable organisation based in Udaipur, Rajasthan. It is known for providing philanthropic services in the field of treatment and rehabilitation of polio affected people without any discrimination of religion, region, caste, sex etc.[1]
History
Narayan Seva Sansthan was founded on 23 October 1985.[2] At present it runs 13 hospitals for polio patients, as well as an international hospital for treatment of disabled by birth, where disabled person all corner of the world are being treated for free.[citation needed] It also runs a home for the destitute, titled as 'Apna Ghar', where about 200 orphan, deaf and dumb and mentally retarded children reside.[citation needed] These children are being educated for free.[3]
Events
On June 15, 2014, it organised mass wedding event for disabled couples suffering from polio. Held in the Ramlila Maidan, New Delhi, 92 couples tied their knots, hobbling or walking to the stage on crutches.[4].
Criticism
- On March 13, 2013- A donation of 8 lacs from stolen in Transit by its employee. The organization has been often criticized for unsecured practices.[5]
