Grayson James[1] Allen (born October 8, 1995) is an American college basketball player who currently plays at Duke University.
Allen was selected as a McDonald’s All-American in 2014, out of Providence School in Jacksonville, Florida, where he won a state championship in 2013. [2] He won the McDonald's All-American Slam Dunk Contest, jumping over future Duke teammate Jahlil Okafor.[3]
On April 7, 2015, Allen played in the 2015 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship Game, scoring 16 points, including 8 straight.[4] After the game, Allen was cited as one of the main reasons for Duke's win by commentators.[5][6] Coach Mike Krzyzewski agreed, saying, "We were kind of dead in the water. We were nine points down and Grayson just put us on his back."[5]
