His first production as director "The Last Days of Tacheles" has been selected for the official competition of the Rome Independent Film Festival and the Salento International Film Festival, and received a "Honorable Mention" recognition at the International Berlin Film Awards in 2014. His second production, "There Was Once a Sea", has been shot in Israel and tells the story of the disappearance of the Dead Sea.

Stefano Casertano (Rome, Italy, May 25, 1978) is an award-winning filmmaker, author and columnist residing in Berlin, Germany. His articles are syndicated on RealClearWorld and on Project Syndicate, and he is a regular guest and commentator on the TV-Show "Quadriga" on the German international channel Deutsche Welle. He holds a teaching and research position in International Politics at Potsdam University, in Germany, and heads "Daring House", a movie company focused on the production of art-house documentaries.

Casertano has been nominated "Italian Young Leader" by the Council for the United States and Italy, and "Junior Fellow" by the Aspen Institute.[1]

Life and career
