Habibullah Huseynov (Azerbaijani: Həbibulla Eynulla oğlu Hüseynov; Russian: Габибулла Ейнуллаевич Гусейнов; born 1910 - died 1945) was a Colonel of the Red Army, the Great Patriotic War, and awarded Hero of the Soviet Union in 1945.
Life
He was born on 9th of October in 1910, in the Ardabil, Iran. He graduated from Tbilisi Military School.
Huseynov fought in World War II from June 1941. In 1943 he was appointed a division commander. He fought in the Baltic Offensive and the East Prussian Offensive as part of the 1st Baltic Front. He was killed in the Battle of Königsberg on 6 April 1945.
Awards
June 29, 1945, He was posthumously awarded the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union by a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. In 1995, a memorial was built in his honor in I. Dadashov street of the Binagadi district.[1]
