Ek Duje Ke Vaaste (English: For the sake of each other) is a Indian Hindi romantic television series, which premiered on 29 February 2016, and is broadcast on Sony TV and Sony TV Asia. The series are aired on every Monday to Friday nights at 10 p.m.[1][2][3]

Nikita Dutta and Namik Paul are finalised to play the female and male lead roles respectively. The plot of the series is about friendship and a love relationship.[1]

Plot

The story revolves around Shravan Malhotra and Suman Tiwari, who've been best friends since childhood, but were separated due to misunderstandings.

Suman is a headstrong and ambitious girl who runs her own catering bussness, Priya Tiffin Centre, in Delhi. After her parents' early demise, her grandfather, uncle and aunt raised her. This indebtedness turns Suman into a contrastingly submissive woman each time she is found within the boundaries of her home. But in the world outside home, she makes sure that she has everything in control and that nobody messes with her. Because of this attitude and behavior, Shravan, names her Sumo.

Shravan is a law graduate from London, who runs his own firm there, but comes back to India where he lives with his father and his uncle's family. Because of his father's accusations, his mother left him at a young age, due to which he had to leave for London. He hates his mother and believes all women are false and deceitful.

As the series reveals, Suman eventually falls in love with Shravan who had always loved Suman, but she insulted Shravan in his childhood days in school before he leaves for London. Thus Shravan plans his revenge. He calls Suman at the school re-union party and insults her in front of all the people. This creates a rift between the two. Since Shravan has got what he wanted he decides to go back to London.

Meanwhile, a Mr. Khosla gets the original papers of Suman's Nanu's house (Tiwari Villa) and says that he owns the house now. Suman's Nanaji asks her to go to Malhotras for help. Shravan refuses but eventually agrees. Gradually they discover Khosla stole the original papers from Suman's parents' house. Shravan proves this in court and wins the case. This further delays his return to London and the two become friends again, only to discover they are in love with each other.

This makes Suman unhappy and she tries to stop him from going to London. In the meantime Puskhar and Preeti become good friends. On the day of Shravans journey everyone gets informed of the news that Ramnath (Shravans father) flight to Mumbai has crashed. This news becomes a shock to everyone especially Shravan who gets depressed on the news. Later its shown that Ramnath doesn't board that flight as he wanted to meet Shravan before he leaves to London. Shravan then promises his dad he would never leave him and go anywhere not even to London.
