Sing is an upcoming American 3D computer-animated musical comedy film directed and written by Garth Jennings, and produced by Illumination Entertainment.[2] The film stars the voices of Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Seth MacFarlane, Scarlett Johansson, John C. Reilly, Tori Kelly, Taron Egerton and Nick Kroll. Universal Pictures has scheduled it for release on December 21, 2016.
Plot
In a world populated by all animals, a koala named Buster Moon (Matthew McConaughey) works to keep his theater from closing down. To do that, Buster and his sheep friend Eddie (John C. Reilly) hold a singing contest to raise money for it, and the entire town auditions for a part in the show. The leading five are a pig named Rosita (Reese Witherspoon), her pig partner Bob (Nick Kroll), a little white mouse named Mike (Seth MacFarlane), a porcupine named Ash (Scarlett Johansson), an elephant named Meena (Tori Kelly), and a gorilla named Johnny (Taron Egerton).

- Reese Witherspoon as Rosita, a domestic pig, who gave up her teenage music dreams to become a devoted wife of Norman, and mother to 25 piglets.[3]
- Seth MacFarlane as Mike, a little white mouse with a big Frank Sinatra-esque voice, and arrogant attitude.[3]
- Scarlett Johansson as Ash, a crested porcupine, who heads up an alternative-rock band with her boyfriend.[3]
- John C. Reilly as Eddie, a Suffolk sheep, and Buster's partner that doubts the future of the theater.[3][4]
- Tori Kelly as Meena, a teenage Indian elephant with an exquisite voice, and severe stage fright.[3]
- Taron Egerton as Johnny, a British-accented mountain gorilla, who wants to sing, but his father wants him to follow his family’s criminal footsteps.[3]
- Nick Kroll as Bob, Rosita's German-accented dance partner.[5]
- Nick Offerman as Norman, a domestic pig and Rosita's husband.
- Leslie Jones as Ms. Crawl, an elderly green iguana, and Buster's assistant, who offers Johnny piano lessons.
- Jennifer Saunders as Ms. Nana Noodleman[5][6]
- Peter Serafinowicz as Johnny's criminal father.
Other confirmed cast members whose roles have not yet been confirmed are Jay Pharoah[5] and Beck Bennett.[5]
Release
Universal Studios scheduled the musical film for a December 21, 2016 release.[7]
