Phillip Bruce Danyew (born October 31, 1986), known by his stage name Danyew, is an American Christian musician. He released two extended plays in 2009, Danyew and Wake Up, with Sparrow Records. He is currently a touring member and studio musician with Foster the People.

Early life

Danyew was born as Phillip Bruce Danyew,[1] on October 31, 1986 in Orange County, California,[2] whose father, Gregory Bruce Danyew, is a painter, and whose mother, Julie I. Danyew (née, Barnes). He has a twin sister, Rachael Marie Danyew.[3][4] Danyew started his songwriting career, while he was in the seventh grade.[4] His family brought him up in the Calvary Chapel movement, where they went to establish churches in England, Hungary, and Russia.[4]

He started his music career in 2006, yet his first extended play, The EP, was not independently released until February 17, 2009.[5] His next two extended plays were released by Sparrow Records, Danyew, on April 21, 2009,[6][7][8] while, Wake Up, was released on November 17, 2009.[9][10] He ended his solo recording career, after those extended plays were released, and joined, a band, Hitpoints, in 2011.[5] He is also a touring member of the band, Foster the People.
