"So Excited" is a dance-pop/hip-hop song to be released as the second single from Janet Jackson's ninth studio album, 20 Y.O.. The song features rapper Khia, and was released to radio on August 28, 2006. [1] The song is a dance track which samples Herbie Hancock's "Rockit". [2] The song premiered on August 19 2006 during Jermaine Dupri's So So Def Radio on Atlanta radio station WVEE-FM. [3] The song was released for download free with 20 Y.O. pre-orders on iTunes on August 29 2006.

Music video

The music video for the single was filmed in Los Angeles on August 23 2006 and was wrapped the next day. [4] Joseph Kahn directed the video. [5] The video premiered on September 13 2006, on BET's Access Granted. [6]
