Semper Femina is the sixth studio album by British singer-songwriter, Laura Marling, and was released on March 10th, 2017, on More Alarming Records. The album was produced by Blake Mills.

Themes

The album is an exploration of femininity, the title translating from Latin to 'Always woman'. Taken from a line in Virgil's Aeneid, the full quote reads in English as, "Woman is always a fickle and changeable thing."[1]

Reception

Semper Femina received critical acclaim upon its release. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream publications, the album received an average score of 86, based on twenty-six reviews.[2]
