Snehan

(Tamil: சினேகன், born Sivaselvam on 23 June 1978)[1] is a Tamil poet, lyricist, actor, Motivational Speaker. Debuted in the film Putham Pudhiya Poove, he has written lyrics for more than 2500 songs. He has won many awards including Tamil Nadu Government Award for two times.[2] Snehan has also acted in two Tamil films. He is one of the contestants on Bigg Boss Tamil 1. He is an excellent lyricist. The name itself says he is an friendly person.

Career

Snehan was born in a small village Pudhukariyapatti, near Sengipatti in Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu, India as the youngest of eight sons into an agricultural family. His family always helps to poor people in their village.[3] During School days, Snehan received his First place Prize for State level Poem Contest from Dr. M.G.R., Former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

Moving to Chennai, Snehan first worked as a protégé to noted poet and lyricist Vairamuthu for five years. Later, he worked as the Editor of Ilanthendral, a monthly magazine for three years. At a book releasing function then, he was asked by K. Balachander to write songs in films and he got the chance from music director S. A. Rajkumar to write lyrics for the film Putham Puthu Poove. From since, he was written more than 2500 songs for more than 500 films, working with various directors and music composers in the Tamil film industry.

He then turned actor for the film Yogi, for which he has also written all the lyrics, as his friend and writer and lead actor of the film, Ameer Sultan, gave him the opportunity. For the same film, Snehan became a playback singer as well, lending his vocals to a song, composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, with whom Snehan has often associated.

He then turned as a Hero in the film Uyarthiru 420. And now he is acting in 3 films which are under production.

Now Snehan turned as a Producer and Producing a Tamil feature film Rajaraja Chozhanin Porvaal
